UMO recording! It did not even occur to me to do an April Fool show until it was halfway over, if you can believe that, so it's pretty normal. Actually not quite, someone screwed with the board (thus disabling the cd player) and it took me a few seconds to notice and thus there's a pause before the first song begins, although I trimmed it down. You can hear me come back in and try to pause for time while I figure out what's wrong though, haha. I DID FIGURE IT OUT THOUGH EVENTUALLY.

syatten - Klonoa: Door to Phantomile - desirable star
Zeroboros feat. Swann - Final Fantasy X - Party in Zanarkand
Tweek - Pokémon Red/Blue - TEEM.ROKIT
Mattias Haggstrom Gerdt, GSlicer - Pokémon Gold/Silver - Disco Lounge

Haha I'm glad you enjoyed the April Fool's thing. I love that holiday, it's always fun to see what kind of pranks websites are doing. For example, youtube had a 1911 button that I sadly apparently missed out on, but later found out is still in effect! You just have to add &vintage=1911 to a video's url for magic. It doesn't work on all videos, but it does work on some!

Like this one for example! My god it's like it was made for this.

I actually had the idea for the John K parody ages ago, made a vague plan to do it, and then totally forgot about it until someone posted about how April Fools was the next day. Cue me scrambling to put it all together. IT WAS WORTH IT THOUGH.

In other news, classes started a week or so ago so I been kinda busy with that, haha. It's weird to be back in school after so long. I'm so easily distracted, but I think I've always been. RELATED have not had much chance to play Pokemon White, as Alix wasn't home very much, so I played Soul Silver instead. It is always so refreshing to go back to White after Silver because Silver is just so frigging unbalanced and grindy and halfbaked, it's so obnoxious. It's amazing how much more solid a game White feels and how much its gameplay tweaks add to the experience

BUT I did finally beat the Elite Four last night, and it was a very close shave. Since you seem to enjoy my DRAMATIC Pokemon stories (or at least delcat does), it all came down to my Piloswine named Rezna and it went something like this.

I hadn't really been planning on making it to Lance, but I'd gotten kind of lucky with some of the preceding trainers and just decided to go for it. However it made a pretty big dent in my items, so by the time I had everyone up and healed after Karen, I was down to three revives left, with maybe three max revives. I had a few healing items, but thankfully had a large stockpile of Hyper Potions since I rarely use them instead of Lemonades.

My team at this point goes as follows:

Chirin the Ampharos - lvl 44
Fauntleroy the Houndoom - lvl 40
Poe the Noctowl - lvl 40
Chopan the Girafarig - lvl 40
Rezna the Piloswine - lvl 42
Dipsy the Quagsire - lvl 41

Most of them were holding items meant to boost their powers (NeverMeltIce, Magnets, etc), but I wasn't entirely optimistic that I could do it. My only Pokemon with any moves Super Effective against Dragons was Rezna, and the only ice move she had was Ice Shard, which was a priority move but also only had 40 power. She has a pretty fierce attack stat sure, but that's not a lot. I wasn't sure how much damage she could dish out without going down, and I didn't have the revives to play juggle-the-awake-pokemon. I was banking on Dragonite's quad weakness to Ice to help me here.

Lance's Gyarados went down to Chirin no problem, but then I forgot that Lance has THREE DRAGONITES. OH WHAT A MASTER TRAINER YOU ARE LANCE, HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO WORK OUT THAT BRILLIANT TEAM
NICE VARIETY you stupid douchebag
Anyway the first Dragonite used Outrage and nearly swept the entire team, except for those brief moments when I got lucky and it missed or hit itself in confusion. It still managed to get off Outrage twice, nearly incapping everyone before I think Rezna finally knocked it down. I used all my max revives and a revive trying to keep my Pokemon up.

Dipsy I think managed to take down the Charizard, but that still left two more Dragonites to go. Chirin paralyzed one of them before going down, and Rezna took one out. The next came up, and at this point I really wasn't sure I could do it, but I got lucky and it missed with Blizzard, thus giving me two free shots with Ice Shard and I might have hit to key criticaled with one. Thank god that's a priority move, I swear to god.

Eventually, it came down to Rezna versus Lance's Aerodactyl, lvl 48 compared to her 42. She was the only one awake, and with two revives, I didn't have a lot of wiggle room. I was terrified it'd have something super effective against her, but it looked like its moves could only do about half her health each shot. I couldn't afford to chance it criticaling on me though, so for a while i just kept healing her and wondering if I could just wait the Aerodactyl out until it used Struggle.

Desperate, I flipped through my bag for anything that might help, and lo and behold, I remembered about those dumb battle items I pick up and never ever use. Notably, I had two X Defends, and one X Attack. The Aerodactyl missed with Rock Slide, letting me use one X Defend, thus getting her up enough so I could heal her without her dying. A second, and she could start doing damage.

Fortunately, Ice Shard has a ton of PP, so I could keep spamming it. Unfortunately, I could never do quite enough to knock it out without getting it in the red, and whenever the Aerodactyl was in the red, Lance would Full Restore it (THREE TIMES). I was running out of PP for Ice Shard and items, and the Aerodactyl at one point criticaled Rezna down to 11 Hp, but she barely hung on. Finally in a brief open spot, I used the X Attack on her, and hoped for the best. Since Ice Shard always went first, she managed to knock the Aerodactyl out right before I ran out of healing items, thus pulling victory from the JAWS OF DEFEAT!

I couldn't believe she took out practically three of Lance's Pokemon all by herself! Especially after the hard time I had at the Dragon Gym beforehand. Lance's little speech about how it was because I believed in my Pokemon that I succeeded had a lot of resonance this time around, haha. IT WAS ALL THANKS TO REZNA, MY FLUFFYPIG
I'LL NEVER EVOLVE YOU ♥

The new ending credits were pretty cute. Finally I can get out of Johto and go back to Kanto! Just walking around there always makes me feel better. I LEFT MY HEART IN KANTO. Although so far the music in the cities seems a little elevator-y, but I only went to Vermilion and Saffron before taking a break. But I'm way happier to be exploring Kanto again than anything else, haha. FINALLY I CAN GET OUT OF JOHTO AND GO SOMEWHERE I ACTUALLY LIKE

And also go to the move tutor, sheesh. Maybe I can get my Parasect in Platinum Seed Bomb already.
