Oh yeah I also watched the Arceus movie, which was alright I guess. Arceus had a pretty weird voice in Japanese. It was one of those movies where someone else saves the day and Ash and co watch, which can be less than engaging. This is my problem with MGS2 to a degree, actually.
But yeah, the first 30 minutes was just exposition, and Palkia and Dialga are still the stupidest looking legendaries I swear. Them fighting in slowmotion was kind of hilarious though. Kind of slow in general, actually. It was interesting on one hand that Sheena was ostensibly the heroine and her boyfriend/friend/brother whatever did absolutely nothing, but on the other hand Sheena quickly got overshadowed by Damos, who was the REAL HERO of the movie I guess. I dunno I didn't really care that much about him, or Arceus, or... I dunno, it was just kind of meh.
It wasn't bad though, necessarily. I mean, it wasn't as lame as the Celebi movie or the Manaphy movie, but I dunno, I was expecting a bit more of a punch for the final movie of the trilogy? On the other hand though it was neat having a movie actually remember what happened the previous movies, so Giratina actually remembered Ash and it was like wow that almost never happens.
Also it was nice at the credits to see all the old dorks come back like Zero and Mugen and Alberto and the other guys I forget their names. Coulda been worse I guess, but it wasn't spectacular or anything (lol pokemon movies being spectacular).
The ending credit music as kind of weird though. Kokoro no Antenna has a nice smooth sound but from the translation I got it's apparently about watching the apocalypse and then sailing away on a boat and falling in love and it's like this seems kind of bleak. :O But maybe I'm interpreting it oddly.
