Some White People Make me Sad
There's a group on the facebook that really hurts my soul. No, not the Abercrombie and Fitch one entitled "Fitch my Bitch up: It's a face thing not a Race thing" where people of ethnic make-up have ugly faces. No, the group which I refer to is called "Clean up Berkeley." One of the taglines for this group reads: Want to clean out the bums? This discussion soon unfolded:

Try learning about why people are bums (ie, unemployed and/or homeless) before you type ignorant remarks like this, which reveal that you don't understand these problems (poverty and homelessness) at all, nor do you have any idea as to how to fix them.

Maybe you should take a walk down Telegraph, observe the people that live there and their life decisions. Then when you realize that way of life is not healthy and safe for our community then you can make ignorant comments like that.

Berkeley is an historically liberal place where people of many walks of life find haven. That is part of what makes Berkeley Berkeley. If you knew more about the history of Berkeley (perhaps the Free Speech Movement and the fight for People's Park are good places to start) then maybe you wouldn't make such misinformed remarks. And, once you do know more about the history of Berkeley and would still prefer Berkeley to be more like Westwood, then please do us all a favor and transfer to UCLA.

You know, it's no surprise to me that 90 percent of this group's constituents are white conservative bigots (a general value statement, but it's not like you're unaccustomed to making them). I'm sure we would all like to walk home in complete, phantasmagorical safety after getting sloshed at Sigma Chi, but until then, why don't your privileged white asses call a Berkeley Cab on your pink Razor or ask Chip to walk you home. PS. Most crimes committed in Berkeley are student-on-student. And most sexual assualts are fraternity and dorm related.
