“Dr, his blood pressure dropped to 97!”
“Dr, his heartbeat decreased!”
The doctor in charge had his eyes wide opened upon hearing the warning from his helpers. He glanced a bit to the monitor showing the blood pressure and the heartbeat of the patient in front of him to confirm it himself. Looking at the patient in front of him, he ordered, “Bring me the stabilizer now!”
Shit! Don’t you dare die in front of me!
He started putting the stabilizer to his patient’s chest, pumping it hard. Nothing happened even the force is getting high.
“Don’t you die in front of me!” he shouted to the immobilized patient lying on the bed in front of him. Panic, sad, depressed. Everything bottled up into the small body of his. “Don’t you dare die in front of me, Yamada Ryosuke!” he almost screamed. Giving away the stabilizer to the nurse in charge, he started to do CPR on the patient. “No way!”
“Dr! Stop!” the nurse tried to stop the young doctor to hurt his patient’s chest with his desperate CPR. No matter how many rounds he made, the heartbeat still didn’t get back to normal. Instead, it’s getting slower. Some of the helpers in the young doctor’s team started to call another doctor to take over the case.
Then came another doctor into the chaotic surgeon room, grabbing the young doctor’s arm, pulling him away from the patient and the bed.
“Hanase! Hanase! I have to save him! I need to save him! he must stay alive! He promised me! Ryosuke! Don’t you die here, in front of me!” the small doctor screamed while struggled to release from another doctor’s grip on his arms.
“Yamerou! You are hurting him!” the young doctor, also the colleague of the small doctor replied, trying to calm down the raging doctor. “Yamerou!”
“Iyada! I have to make him stay alive!”
“You had been blinded by emotions, Dr Chinen Yuri!” the young doctor finally lost his calmness. The small doctor by the name Chinen Yuri stopped struggling. “I’m taking over the surgery. Iwahashi-san, take Chinen-sensei out from here,” he ordered his assistant.”
“Hai, Nakajima-sensei,” Iwahashi Genki replied, taking away Chinen from the operation theatre. The young surgeon, known as Nakajima Kento then asked the team to resume the operation.
Outside, Chinen took off his surgical mask and gloves, throwing it away to the dustbin nearby. Washing his face, he stayed there for a few moments before heading out from the washroom. There, outside the operation theatre in the Koro Capsule Hospital, the Sensations’ team resident doctor broke down into tears for only one reason.
The one battling for his life inside the theatre, the Sensations’ team Commander, Yamada Ryosuke is his one and only eternal love.

6 months before the incident
Chinen Yuri and Yamada Ryosuke met in a typical meeting, in the practice field at KoroPort. They were a part of Sensations, a group of 9 assassins hired by Koro-sensei to kill people as he pleases. Yamada was practicing his shooting when Chinen came over to do the same.
“You were holding the gun wrong for a sharp shooter, Chinen-kun,” Yamada told him before he even go to start his practice. Chinen raised his eyebrows while looking at his hands. Yamada took off his headplug, marching towards Chinen. “Hold it like this,” he re-positioned the younger’s hand on the gun he hold. He heard hisses from the smaller. “Daijoubu?”
“Un! I’m fine,” Chinen replied, trying to hide his pain behind his cute smile. But the Commander still didn’t convinced. He saw the younger’s hand being covered fully with gloves. “It’s okay, Yamada-kun. You don’t have t-“
Yamada didn’t hear him as he took off the gloves covering Chinen’s bruised hands. “What happened to your hand?”
“It’s nothing. Just bruises. You know~”
“I know nothing, Yuri. Tell me.”
Chinen gulped when he heard his birth name being mentioned by his leader in front of him. “I was doing some science experiments in the lab this morning and some of the apparatuses broke on my hands while I done mixing some mixtures for new type of poison so, that explains the bruises and burns. Don’t you worry, I had my hands clean from any substances before coming here. I tried to treat it but we have limited medical sources at the moment,” he explained, his voice shaken by just witnessing Yamada’s stern face.
Yamada nodded, feeling satisfied with Chinen’s answer. “You should get your hands treated. Come, I take you to the infirmary.”
And who is Chinen to protest when Yamada dragged him to KoroPort’s infirmary.
“Everything you needed to treat your wound is all here. Korosensei had it all updated every 10 hours so you don’t have to worry,” Yamada smiled. Upon seeing the infirmary full with the equipments and medicines he need, Chinen can’t help but flashed the most beautiful smile anyone had seen, including Yamada. “You … really loved those stuffs, right?”
Chinen nodded eagerly. “Before I was appointed to be a part of Sensations, I took a medical degree in Aoyama University. I want to be a doctor after I graduate but it seems like I will never be one now,” Chinen sat on the chair after taking some medicines and tools to treat his wound. “I killed my lecturer using a poison dart and I was expelled on my final year. That is when Korosensei hired me, because he was amused to know that the poison I used to kill him, I created it myself,” he don’t know why he started to open up about his previous life in front of his team mate, most specifically his leader. Chinen stumbled upon the antiseptic he used, so Yamada hurriedly come to help him. “Thanks~”
“Daijoubu. You’re pretty clumsy to be a doctor,” Yamada said again. Chinen chuckled.
“I know. That is why I said I’ll never be one.”
“You will,” they met on the eyes. “Sensations are so lucky that they have a healer among them. I’ll propose to Korosensei to make you our team’s doctor. He’ll be thrilled,”
“Hontou?” Chinen beamed happily. Yamada nodded. “Arigatou na, Yamada-kun! Hontouni arigatou!” he hugged the elder tight. Yamada, despite being shocked, replied the hug.
Little by little, the Commander had it confirmed inwardly that he started to felt love at the first sight.

4 months before the incident
Few days after they met, Yamada proposed to Korosensei to have Chinen being their resident doctor and Korosensei, as expected, are glad to have Chinen being a part of Koro Capsule Hospital, the most sophisticated hospital on Earth. The hospital itself changed his policy after Chinen issued a complaint about the need of update on materials, equipments and medicines daily in the said hospital, which Korosensei took it seriously.
Being a part of Koro Capsule Hospital didn’t disturb Chinen with his practice and missions with Sensations. Whenever Sensations need to go out of places that are far away from the KoroPort, Chinen was the one in charge of the medical needs for the team. Knowing that he is also Sensations’s resident doctor, Korosensei had the hospital admins informed to make Sensations’s needs and welfares a priority to Chinen.
One of the missions Sensations need to perform outside the KoroPort for a week is when they go to northern Brasilia in Brazil to kill the drug tycoon which happened to threat Korosensei to kill him. They took the jungle path and stay in the jungle for few days before reached the place.
Chinen is distributing everyone’s drink when they settled down not far from Amazon River. Everyone is down to set up the camp for their stay at night there. “Chii, did you bring anything to shoo any poisonous animals away from our campsite especially Anaconda?” Sonic Hunter Yaotome Hikaru asked him.
“I did bring some powders to be spread around our site. But we still need to set up the dome so no one can see us, deshou?” Chinen smiled. Taking the said powder, he left to sprinkle it all around the campsite. While doing so, he saw Yamada sat at the riverside, playing with water under his feet. “Yama-chan?”
“Oh~ Yuri. Hey. Are you done?”
“No. I just got started. What are you doing here? Don’t you go help the others?” Yamada shook his head. “Something bothers you?”
“Sort of. But I’m fine. Daijoubu. You continue with your work then. And Yuri …” Yamada turned around when Chinen is about to leave.
“Yes?”
Silent. “Just call me Ryosuke. Yama-chan is … quite common. I wanna hear you calling me by my birth name.”
That creeps shyness onto the Doctor’s cheeks. “Hai, Ryosuke.” He then left.
Never did Chinen and even Yamada himself know, in the thick jungle of Amazon, a sparkle coming out from both of them.
“Here, your dinner,” Yamada saw Chinen give him a bento box with the dinner for tonight. “Keito and Dai-chan cooked it.”
“Thanks. Have you eaten?”
“Not yet. That is why I bring mine here. I saw you sat alone here at the riverside, so I think you might need a company,” Chinen sat down next to him. “The others had done eaten and currently enjoying themselves. I excused myself from them to send you your food here.”
Yamada smiled. “Thanks,” he muttered.
“You like rivers?” Chinen blurted out. Yamada nodded. “Me too. It’s calming and refreshing by just letting our feet soaked in while sitting alone enjoying the nature.”
“Darou?” Yamada replied. Munching his meat, he continued. “My origin is related to nature specifically rivers. So I find it’s calming everytime I came to the rivers.” He saw Chinen look at him. “Why are you looking at me like that? It’s creepy, you know.”
Chinen giggled. “It’s so rare for Commander-san to talk like this. I mean, you pose a nature of ‘did not talk too much’ to make our friends respect you. But actually, you talk a lot. It’s interesting,” he then put down his bento box. “I might asking you too much, Ryosuke but please interact more with our friends there. They don’t need a leader, they need a understanding leader. Being one is hard, I know.”
Yamada nodded. “I don’t know if I can do that. I don’t usually open up about myself to anyone. I don’t know but with you, I can talk freely like this. You’re right, you are asking me too much. But I have reasons why.”
“You don’t mind if I want to know why?”
Looking at the Doctor into the eyes, the Commander muttered, “I want you to be the only one to know my weakness and my strength. You are destined to be my other half. I feel complete when I was with you and I don’t want it to pass like that. I … I love you, Dr. Chinen Yuri.” Chinen kept silent. “Ever since I lay my eyes on you, I have that urge to take care of you. You are way too precious to be hurt and I don’t like it because you are precious to me. I wanna take care of you for the rest of my life. I … have been keeping this one from you for two months because I am scared to get rejected by my precious one but, it’s worth trying, ne?” smiling, Yamada averted his gaze to the river in front of him, signing Chinen that he is serious about everything he said.
“Ryosuke …” Chinen muttered. The elder didn’t even dare to look at the young doctor after his confession. “Ryosuke, look at me.” And he turned to see the bright smile he had been dreaming of since day one. “I … had been imagined you to say those words to me. Because, you are not the only one who got stuck in love at first sight.” Chinen took Yamada’s hand, bringing it to his chest while gripping it tight. “Did you feel it? This is what you have done to my poor heart. It’s beating this fast whenever I got to be close like this to you.”
Yamada chuckled, brushing the strands of hair away from Chinen’s eyes. “I love you, Yuri. So much.”
“I love you too, Commander Yamada Ryosuke,” Chinen replied. Letting himself being pulled into the strong arms of the leader, they shared their first kiss under the moonlight in the middle of Amazon. And apparently, their first night together as a couple.
They resumed their kissing session once they head back to Yamada’s tent. Pinning the younger to the wall, Yamada deepen the kiss, making Chinen moaned into the kiss.
