Just finished the third chapter of Set Fire to This Card House (Nice! France! I freely admit that my main motivation for writing this story is exploring different settings.), so the second chapter should be up tomorrow. Coda to 1x18. Full of raw emotion, this one is great because it feels real, Steve trying so hard very to take care of Danny only he doesn't quite know how.
>> “Danny, you okay?” Steve asks, because he cannot take it, and he can’t keep his eyes on the road with Danny breaking into pieces beside him. <<
gyzym: just like the barrel going over the falls
I'm not a big fan of established relationship fic, but this was amazing. In particular the Danny!dialogue is spot-on, truly fantastic.
>> Peer pressure convinces Danny and Steve (well, okay, just Steve) that date nights are a necessary part of a healthy relationship. They try them out. It...doesn't go well. <<
dogeared: When I'm Awake, or Awake Enough
This is stunningly beautiful, with the kind of imagery that comes alive in front of your eyes.
>> There's a sound, like the peal of a bell, ringing in his ears and resonating in his chest, and he wakes up. <<
