Recruiting!
As I am both aware of the fact that there are few people as out of the loop as I am, and of the fact that the collective wisdom of my f-list far surpasses what little wisdom I have managed to gather over the years (don’t laugh), here’s a question: Is there already a community for regular Holmesian recs, and I missed it?
If the answer is no, I think it would be really, really cool to have a community like that. Because it helps finding good fic, and it saves time in times when you have none. (Selfish reasons? Yes, okay. But, see, my selfish reasons would still lead to fandom winning out, so it’s all good, yes?) I’m thinking of a community with a small ring of reccers, at least 5 and no more than 15, and a round-up post every three days or so, or when there are at least five fics to rec; easiest would probably be to base it on a shared del.icio.us account and appropriate descriptions and tagging. And I definitely know I can’t do this alone, so, yeah. Anyone interested?
Core requirements:
Respect for the English language (which, yes, also means a healthy respect for grammar and spelling) / Familiarity with del.icio.us (although it’s really not that difficult) / Minimum age of 18 (because if we rec NC-17 fic, we should be of age) / Willingness to spread the love (because fandom is all about the squee, right?) / Much, much love for the ridiculousness of Holmes and Watson and everyone who surrounds them (which should be the easy part) / A tiny bit of time (and I hope this won’t be so bad if it’s spread out amongst quite a few people)
Details could be worked out within the smaller group of interested subjects.
So, anyone interested?
I might post this to holmeswatson09 eventually if there aren’t enough volunteers here, but please feel free to pimp this to your f-list. It would be cool if we could get this party started without involving the big community. *dimples*
I should be in bed. Unfortunately, I think I slept too much yesterday, and writing roughly 5’000 most ridiculous words of the story that is decidedly not called Sexual Healing didn’t help. It also didn’t help that I went on a mad music spree, but hey, if you’re looking for new music to listen to, I might have some for you!
