Interesting! There are people out there who simply forget to eat; I suppose it makes good sense that there are some who would forget to sleep.

You already have some good advice here, but have you considered the NatureBright lamp? I think maybe we talked about why it might not be a good fit for you (namely, it DOES restore your rhythm, but you have to use it during the day for it to do that), but if you could take it into work in the mornings and use it then, I think it would be a huge help. Given my own stupid sleep schedule (which I can afford, given that I'm freelance and all my editors work on the west coast, anyway), I don't use the lamp at the "right" times, but it has been a big help in improving my mood this winter--er, it WAS, anyway; I think I have something else going on with this whole maybe-anemia thing, but that's another story.

ANYWAY

If the lamp's not an option, then yes, Sleepytime Tea is a very nice, gentle way to make yourself sleepy. It will also get you into the "mood" to sleep, if you make it part of the aforementioned pre-bedtime routine.

Other good pre-bedtime snax:

-Cereal and milk

-Warm milk with vanilla

-A cup of soup

-A FUCKTONNE OF TURKEY No, no.

David's having some trouble with his sleep rhythms too. I know you don't have health care, but if you could see a doctor for one appointment, he/she might be able to give you a tranq that will help get you back on track. You should probably only resort to this if All Else Fails.

I notice you said on IRC that you don't dream anymore. You have my sympathy: that sucks. Hopefully, getting your sleep cycle back in order will restore them. It's weird; I suspect I'm always tired because I dream so vividly, and I go through phases where I just don't want to sleep because my dreams are so loud and disturbing. Nevertheless, they're a part of me, and I really think I'd miss them if they vanished.

Yeah, I just... I dunno, I always put sleep as this thing that I don't have to do, somehow. It's terrible XD

Now that I'm spending more time at home, I'll look into the NatureBright.

And yeah, not remembering my dreams SUCKS. i don't know if it's linked to my bad sleep patterns, because it's a thing that's happened relatively recently, but I hope so :| I hate waking up from nothing, it's the worst feeling.

ALSO, CUP OF SOUP IS THE BEST IDEA EVER. I can never do milk, because milk gives me the wind, and not just wind, but uh, hot wind. >_>
