This is turning into the best winter ever here.
Yes, the snow has screwed up a lot of plans and after a few days it gets ugly and grey, but here's why this winter has been awesome.
We've had snow. No wintry mix, not many instances of sleet or freezing rain, hell, not even that many unseasonably warm days (though my birthday was disappointingly warm). Just snow. A whole lot of snow.
We've had snow that started, continued, and ended as snow. And it has been cold enough that it's all accumulated from the start, too. None of those storms where we get four inches on the grass and nothing at all on the roads.
We haven't even had any times where the prediction estimates went from 8 inches to 4 inches to a dusting to wintry mix to rain to clouds to maybe some fog to mostly sunny and 70. So far, they've gone the opposite direction - the initial prediction for the December blizzard was 5-10 inches and we got more than twice that.
And today it was supposed to start raining in the afternoon then turn to snow by around 6. Instead, it skipped the whole rain part and just started snowing around 6. Excellent.
We've had over 30 inches of snow this winter and we still have all of February and March to get through.
I've lived here for almost my entire life and I don't ever remember a winter quite like this.
