I spend less time a day on media than you'd think based on this.

Also known as: the fast-forward button is my friend! So is having learnt speed reading! Books I'm reading (extracurricular only):
  • Far and Beyon' by Unity Dow (part of my Around the World in However Many Books challenge)
  • Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris (re-read)
  • Thorn Queen by Richelle Mead
  • The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
  • War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy
  • Europe's Promise by Steven Hill
  • Islam: The Religion and the People by Bernard Lewis & Buntzie Ellis Churchill (I'm always :/ about Lewis, but he knows his basics, and as long as you read critically you're okay.)
  • The Crown Conspiracy by Michael J. Sullivan
  • A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin (HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS, HOLY SHIT.)
  • The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa
  • The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss (re-read - AND IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS YET OR AREN'T PLANNING TO: WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?)
  • Room by Emma Donoghue
  • Scarlet by Stephen R. Lawhead
  • The Spirit Lens by Carol Berg
  • Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck (ugh)
  • The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks
This doesn't seem that way, but I'm in a bit of a reading slump. Or a book-reading slump really. TV I'm watching (alphabetically for your convenience):
  • America's Next Top Model
  • The Big Bang Theory
  • Blue Bloods
  • Boardwalk Empire
  • Bones
  • Burn Notice (season 1)
  • Castle
  • Chase (giving it a chance)
  • Chuck
  • Community
  • Cougar Town
  • Glee
  • Gossip Girl
  • Hawaii Five-0 (not bad so far (except for the obvious Two-White-Men-Leading-Everyone-Else), and slashy as all hell. Also: Grace Park. Come on.)
  • Hellcats
  • House MD (kind of anyway)
  • Leverage (season 3, catching up)
  • Lie to Me
  • Make It Or Break It (catching up)
  • The Mentalist (I honestly don't know why. I just kinda watch it now and then.)
  • Merlin (planning on finally watching all of season two and then catching up)
  • Misfits (season 1)
  • My Generation
  • Mythbusters
  • NCIS
  • NCIS: Los Angeles
  • Nikita
  • No Ordinary Family
  • Project Runway
  • Rev
  • Royal Pains (catching up)
  • Sherlock (planning to)
  • Southland (planning to)
  • Supernatural
  • Terriers
  • True Blood (season 3, catching up)
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Warehouse 13
  • White Collar
.... you honestly thought you were watching a lot of TV? AHAHA. (To be honest, I don't watch TV on the TV at all, just series, in English, on the computer. And Malhação recaps on Youtube.) Fandoms I've been raiding/reading: Mostly Inception, recently some Highlander and modern!AUs of Merlin. The occasional Losers fic. Games I've been playing: Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Multiplayer Beta. Like a fiend. You might have heard me raving about this game and it's predecessors. Some Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (I <3 that game so much). Some more AC - B. Some Dragon Age: Origins (recent DLCs in particular). Speaking of DA:O, have you guys seen the recent character re-design for part two? No? Well.
(links to a bigger version)
  1. "Different standards of beauty" my ass. Get your thin able-bodied white people away from me.
  2. Is that ....? A FUCKING TA MOKO? SERIOUSLY? COME THE FUCK ON!
  3. What is up with everyone being half naked?
  4. And those Qunari pants. I mean, ???
  5. I'm concerned about the physics of the outfits of both the human and the elven female.
  6. The female Elf looks vaguely (VAGUELY) Middle Eastern ( ... if you ignore her complexion), but they're supposed to speak with a Welsh accent, so. :/
  7. That said, the female Qunari is smokin'. The Dwarven lady is attractive, too. Maybe the Elven woman. I'm frankly still too distracted by THAT FUCKING TA MOKO to look at the human female semi-objectively. The males are all - eh. Well "Eh." pretty much sums it up.
I have some thoughts about our new hero, too. I find it bitterly ironic that our "default version" (seriously, they even call him that, Default Hawke) is a white human dude in his twenties/thirties, presumably cis. At least we can influence his sexuality to a point, but HONESTLY, BIOWARE. This entry is a mirror of http://zanzando.dreamwidth.org/140566.html |
