I got home a few minutes ago from the local Wehrenberg theater after seeing the movie Eragon. I read the book in September--500 pages in one week. The movie follows the book, but things are left out and changed, and things are put in. Overall, the movie is fantastic and is worth the money to see it and espeically buy it.
My particularly favorite part is how Saphira was done. The CG is wonderful as usual, but it's her anatomy and colors that impressed me. A well done, well-proportioned, quadruped, sapphire-colored dragon, she is almost exactly like I pictured her in my mind. Some people in the auditorium went "awww" when the saw baby Saphira. The time lapse when she grew was a bit sudden and quick. In the book it takes her several weeks to grow from a hatchling not taller than a foot to a young dragon with a shoulder height of 5-7 feet. In the movie she flies through clouds and you see her grow.
That movie is going on my wish list. I may also send a letter to 20th Century Fox providing my own feedback. Go see the movie; it's worth it.
