"It is still hell."
This is something my son's 5 yr old friend said today. I just had to smile and reply, "Yes. Yes, it is hell." One of his parents is German, the other American. This child has grown up hearing and speaking both languages. When he visits us he has a tendency to mix German & English together in his sentences.
In German "hell" refers to something that is light in color. Here, he was refering to the fact that it was still light outside at 5:30 pm. Which was true. Is it wrong that when a 5 yr old tells me that something is hell it lightens my day?
