Zanpakutou Post: Katen Kyokotsu and Sogyo no Kotowari

May 12, 2008 23:50

Been a long time since I did one of these, hasn't it?  Well, Sogyo no Kotowari and Katen Kyokotsu keep showing up only to disappear, so I'm doing this in the hopes that they'll stick around long enough to be written this time.  (Before I forget and just in case anyone's reading who doesn't know, Sogyo no Kotowari is Ukitake's zanpakutou, and Katen ( Read more... )

I am rapidly getting to the point where your characterisation of the various swords is becoming canon in my head. After reading that I now want to read sword porn. I blame you.

Really look forward to reading more of these. You can probably guess which swords I'd really like you to do next..*grins*

*blinks* Talk about high praise. Thank you. *laughs* I'll take the blame. (I'd also take sword porn, but we'd have to find someone else to write it.)

Hmmm...Senbonzakura and Nameless?

*grin* Hey, you knew about that in advance, at least in general. I seem to recall mentioning it. I don't think I connected the concept to these two, although they were undoubtedly the ones I was thinking about at the time.

Oh, wow. Lots and lots to think about...

Especially when the inner landscapes you have described match up nearly exactly to how I think of them.

I have a feeling that my characterizations may line up a bit more with yours, eventually, but I keep thinking of the swords as having two spirits. But that doesn't really preclude what you have here, either. The double-image...

I'm so glad I went back through my flist... to catch up after the flurry of insanity that was my life.

And this is going into my memories as reference...

Eheheheh...this has kinda been building and sorting for a while, which is why there's so darn much of it. I can get rather detail-oriented sometimes and keeping it all only in my head was not conducive to actually writing fic.

Mmmm...hive mind? *laughs* I'd expect some similarities, in all seriousness, given that there just isn't a lot in canon to draw from.

Two spirits, one spirit, whatever. We're working with two separate sets of zanpakutou and there's no official word one way or the other. It's all good. And I'm particularly fond of the double image effect, myself. *grin*

*blinks* Reference? Huh. Well, that was what it was intended for. Glad I could help?

It's me again... Wow *blinks* wow... the detail... I can see why your zanpakuto world is so well-buffered-- that's the word that comes to mind. I'm glad you wrote that all down- most people, I think, keep that in their heads, and it's easy to get confused if one does that! Unless one had developed that in a fic that manages to be both informative and entertaining, but few people can manage that and pull it off without sliding into TMI for a fic! I don't have any comments to add on your zanpakutou world so far, except the usual readers' cry to a great writer of "more! more!"

Well-buffered is a pretty good term for it. *amused* And, y'know, I have to write this all down. I've got something on all twenty or so zanpakutou I've written so far, and this much on about a half-dozen of those. Plus everything else I'm working on that's not the Zanpakutou Chronicles. I just can't hold all that in my head.

Yeah. All this wouldn't fit in one fic. At some point, I'm gonna have to hit the high points in one fic, just to have it established for what I've got planned. It'll definitely be a balancing act.

*laughs* There'll be more. Trust me, there'll be more.
