Post Deer, Phase 2, Complete

Well, I've been to see MPIC, no worries as they are going to do all the repairs. I had the good word within 90 seconds of being there. It's not even going to be body work, they've authorized for all the bent up bits to be completely replaced and then any necessary paint touch ups. Thank heavens VanZilla is only 4 years old as the repairs will be just under $5,000.00. That's one expensive deer.

The adjuster who was looking after me told me that at this time of year, they actually average a half dozen or so deer strikes a day, just at their location. When you think that there are about 7 or 8 MPIC inspection buildings in the city, that's roughly 45 or so claims a day for deer strikes. Wow.

Next step - the van goes into the body shop on December 6, they will probably have it for a couple of days. I've paid for loss of use insurance, so I'll have a rental for the time it's in the shop. I've already dropped off my paperwork with them, and the parts will have been ordered by the end of the day. If all goes well, with no glitches or hold ups, the van should be all repaired and back in my hands by the end of the week of Dec. 6.
