There are several factors

oh I totally love it. sorry I should have effused more!

but I meant not just the technique but also the more (mythological? is that the right word?) feeling of it. this feels less like a portrait of a particular person (although of course it is) and more like she's representing some facet of human experience in a generalised way.

I like the way you put that... and I think you are right... but it wasn't a planned, conscious idea... just kind of felt my way there visually.
