what i did on my winter vacation
Mary assigned Huck Finn to her honors kids over christmas break. She even got a nasty email from a parent about it. Not because they were offended by the content, but because it would take away from "Family time" and that would not do.

Well, she 'assigned' it to me too, and while I'd like to think that i read at slightly higher than a high school sophmore reading level, I do find that i have a sophmore attention span. I'd read then go play guitar, or read then go watch TV, or not read becasue I was drinking and playing guitar with my brother and didnt feel like it. So two weeks pass, and the Sunday before break ends, Ms VB and I spent part of the afternoon alone in our quiet places, reading the final 50 pages, because we had put it off until the last minute.
My one suggestion on how to improve upon the book: "Ninja" Jim.
