Hau Ruck is German for Heave Ho, at least according to Sascha Konietzko of KMFDM. That mentality has made the build up and grand opening of IKEA Round Rock a mostly pleasant experience, even with all the irrational customers and lethargic coworkers. Once again, I have proved to myself that the suckitude (or badassedness, depending on YOUR point of view) of life is all a matter of perspective. I could have been all on about how I have to bust my butt all day; no, I make it a point to find the silver lining. I get to meet a plethora of interesting people everyday and make them happy by showing them where their DIY furniture is located. My attitude has not gone unnoticed either, my manager has been giving me more duties to perform and my coworkers have been asking me questions prior to going to our manager. I have an inkling this may lead to some sort of officialness, so to speak.
I got off of work tonite at 11:30pm and didnt get home until 12:30am. I work tomorrow at 8am and its a 30 minute commute, call me a glutton for punishment, but I like it. I get to make sure all the projects *I* left behind get done. After all, a person is rewarded for their productivity, not their personality (but it sure does help!).
