When you've always been given everything, the idea of not getting what you want seems insane.
Kitagawa Takayuki had always been given what his heart had desired. It had been his parents way of making up for being absent from his life for long periods of time. Takayuki had been given everything from a pony to his own jet.
All he had to do was snap his fingers, and people jumped to their attention - giving in to his every whim and fancy. People tried to make him comfortable and happy by sucking up and giving him things for free. For the most part, Takayuki had to admit that it was pretty nice. If asked, Takayuki would have said his life was wonderful - nearly perfect.
He had everything he wanted, expect - Seo Akina.
She was completely not his style. No parents, no breeding. . . no money. Her school uniform was perfectly pressed, and all she carried was her school bag - no purse or cell phone in sight. Akina was polite to the teachers and helpful to her lower classmen. She was studious, serious. . . someone with a future. Totally not his type. And yet - he wanted her.
He wanted her like a desert wants rain or a dying man breath. She consumed his thoughts. He had wild fantasies of the two together on his parents' island. Of them running through the streets of Pairs. Takayuki had dreams of them sitting together at a kotatsu in a tiny apartment. It was those thoughts that made him angry, though he didn't know why.
Takayuki spent years trying to get Akina to leave Saint August, if only in the vain attempt that it might get her out of his mind. Seo Akina being so determined to stay only made him want her more.
It wasn't that he thought she could make him a better man. God, he wasn't that cliche. No, it was more. . . more like he thought that somehow, Seo Akina would understand Kitagawa Takayuki. She hated to lose and so did he. Knowing that made Takayuki sure he could win Akina's heart if he really wanted to.
But, for the moment all he wanted was her. He wanted her to want him. To think greatly of him. To want to do things for him.
Takayuki didn't need Akina, but he wanted her. And, he knew before it was all over he'd have her.
