Minor Side Effects

Oct 17, 2007 10:35

I, once again, fronted up to my doctor yesterday and advised him that I am not pregnant. He rewarded me by giving me my second Gardasil vaccination.

Comment from Sister (also receiving injection): Didn't hurt at all.

Comment from Me: Owwwwwwww.

Comment from Sister: You baby, did them sticking the needle in hurt like usual?

Comment from Me: Yeah, and the doctor jolted the needle by accident halfway through, but that's not what really hurts. My arm's aching from the vaccination.

Comment from Sister: Sure. *unbelieving look*

Comment from Me: It ached last time too.

My arm still aches, but if it's like last time, it'll go away in a day or so. A sore arm in return for a vaccination that reduces my chance of getting cervical cancer? Any time, people.

I don't get the banning fuss behind Gardasil. This is a course of vaccination that is helping prevent people from getting a type of cancer. We're preventing cancer. How utterly amazing is that?
