Ice cube trays

So.... If I'm going to make my own baby food... You think I can put the stuff in an ice cube tray so I have nice small portions I can unfreeze as needed? Will that work (avacados, sweet potatos...)?

Pictures.., cause I can! ;o) )

food, baby

Your kiddos are just so adorable!!!! Sorry I can't really help you with the baby food (My baby is now 12!) and only thing I would worry about with ice cube trays is freezer burn.

Thanks and oooh good point about the freezer burn. Maybe I could cover the tray?

I do Tiber's food like this.

Blend.

Pour into ice-cube trays and cover.

Let freeze.

Store in freezer bags.

Microwave for 30 seconds and stir when you want to defrost them.

Never had a problem with freezer burn and Babies R Us even have ice cube trays with lids if you are concerned.

Great recipes:

Sweet Potato & Apples
Carrots & Apples
Sweet Potato and Chicken
Sweet Potato & Turkey
Avocado and Banana (this may turn brown in the freezer, but still ediable)

SQUEEEEEEEEEEE baby photos and big proud brother! ADORABLE.

Ha! I was actually just on that website. I'm just looking to start getting stuff together for her cause she hates the rice cereal. I'm thinking if I buy stuff to make it will be cheaper and make the rest of us eat better cause I can just make extra. We really eat pretty crappy... Especially lately and Liam literally gags on things. He's sooo picky unless it's pasta, pbnj, pizza, cooked carrots, banana, oatmeal... Some chicken... Whatever it's limited. He used to eat them when he had no choice... Haha. I need to change this!

Add apple, pear or banana to the rice cereal. Or even carrots! They're nice and sweet and my kids would eat that combo quite readily even though they wouldn't eat the rice cereal just by itself.

Great idea. I don't want to waste the cereal I bought.

I used to freeze baby food portions in these small containers I bought specifically for this purpose. The containers were big enough to hold portions for a larger kid, too, so as the kids grew, I just made the frozen portions bigger. Though friends of mine used ice cube trays, too. You should be able to do that without major problems ( ... )

sooo cute!

I'm with the others....and sounds like oyu are on the right track, of course you know this because you have one already:P
Rice cereal is gross...but my girls always liked oatmeal..and oatmeal with fruit was always a hit.....but its easy to make fresh.
I did pretty much what Keely did....so nothing to add!
