Am I the only one who thinks that if the CEO's of Chrysler, GM and Ford are oh-so concerned about going bankrupt and shutting-down their companies - they ought to do what myself and thousands of other small-business owners do every day and PUT THEIR MONEY WHERE THEIR MOUTH IS?!
Honestly. You guys have made millions of dollars. You fly to Washington with palms-up on your freakin' jets. You claim to care about the workers and the future of your industry - I would question how important is it to them? It's obviously not *that* important to them. I haven't researched it, but I am quite sure these guys aren't in their twenties or even forties. If (and indeed when if they don't get their heads out of their asses) the US auto industry crashes into oblivion, they will be alright. They will retire. They will drop off the radar and vacation somewhere, or perhaps even pick-up and move out of the country entirely. After all - what loyalty do they show to us?! I've heard of several rich Americans pulling-up stakes and running for the hills to protect their assets.
The truth is, they don't care about us. Not really. They made their money, and now, a bit too late, they realize they've had it wrong for awhile. So now they go crying for funding to possibly turn it around - or more likely, to carry on with the status quo until they leave the corner office. Then it will be someone else's problem and they will be able to leave the U.S. and take their money with them free of (for them) any guilt. Because hey - they 'bailed-out' the company! What more could you possibly want?!
