And I *like* it!
I spent about 20 mins or so last night in my kitchen cooking-up home made dishwashing powder and laundry soap. Seriously.
Been meaning to try it for awhile, and after some research online found some recipies that other nice concerned folks came up with after playing around with the various ingredients. So I feel reasonably confident that they will at least work half-way decent.
For quite awhile I have been trying to go more 'green' and get off the disposable train. Yeah, so the bottles of cleaner and soap are made with recyclable plastic. Yippee. It still costs $$ and resources such as fuel to not only produce it, but ship it, store it, etc. And how many of you actually recycle it?! Ok, it might be higher on my friend's list than the general public (I'm hoping) but I know there are many out there who don't bother. They might live in an apartment or just plain don't bother. And that's sad.
I'm not thinking I can 'make up' the difference of their indifferent behavior, but I see it as a subtle trend and I'm doing my part. If I make it work for me and I tell 10 friends, and even just one of them gets on board and tells 10 friends - you get the idea.
I'll let you know later on how it seems to be working. If anyone wants the recipies I can give you links. I'm horrible at hiding them and making them all short and pretty. I have to go to the help page *every time*. Seriously.
