Back to basics

Eons ago (well, about 3 years) I wanted to cloth diaper. Of course, my hectic life and the amount of time spent in the car made me re-think that back then. However, now I have decided that I need to spend money in other places (like food and such) so cloth diapers, here we are! I already had some, so tonight I went out and got the vinyl pants and the safety latch pins. I spent cash, so that was great. I probably will need to get a few more diapers, but the cost comparison is just - geez. I wish I'd thought about doing this at least 6 months ago! It just so happened she was running-out of diapers and I was desperate. Necessity the mother of invention and all that.

Not doing too-bad overall. I made one bad choice and got 1 NSF charge, but that's better than before and I know exactly what for and why. So that's actually even better. I'm waiting as patiently as humanly possible for the CC transaction we ran yesterday to hit our account. I hoped by batching-out earlier than the 11pm the machine automatically is setup for that I might get it sooner, but no dice. It was worth a try at any rate. It sucks ass having to wait for money, but that's just life right now. Makes you question everything and appreciate everything, so that's good. It just better come before 5pm tomorrow because I have to pay the gas bill! Worst case I can give them a check. It's 24-48 hours for Visa and MC transactions. So the money will be there when the check clears.

Yes, this is my exciting life. Micro-managing my finances and expenses and trying to figure out ways to drum-up business when I can't always be out of the house networking. Soon as I get my customer database back (because we use an on-line service that I couldn't pay for last month) I am even going to nix one logon (Scott almost never uses it) and cut down so the bill will drop in half. It's just amazing to me the excess you aquire when you don't think.
Down with reactive spending! :)

anastasia, work
