Hello again, interwebs.
Meg and Cols and Sarah tagged me, so I should really do it.
The rules: Each person tagged gives 7 random facts about themselves. Those tagged need to write in their blogs the 7 facts, as well as the rules of the game. You need to tag 7 others and list their names on your blog.
1. I'm hard-pressed to identify what I consider my "hometown"--I was born in New Jersey, grew up in Texas (but retain no roots there), finished high school in Pennsylvania (but my parents don't live there anymore), went to college in Indiana (Motherland!!), and now live in New York (the greatest city in the world).
2. The vast majority of the really cool stuff I've done in my life has been a direct consequence of my choosing to play the tuba.
3. My chosen field of study is social science but I hate people. All of you.
4. Between my college roommate, my grad school roommate, and my NYCSSLD coworkers, I've squandered three prime "opportunities" to become fluent in Spanish...but I'm going to try for reals this time.
5. At heart I'm painfully shy and introverted. I took up things like debate and being an RA in part to force myself not to disengage.
6. Sometimes I wish I could go back to school and major in something where I could blow shit up for a living. Science is so cool. But maybe I only think that now because I'm far enough removed from all the math and chem that would be required.
7. My nickname at work is Ninja, which started because of my stealth photocopying prowess, and has expanded to mythic lore (i.e. "Ninja can levitate the box [a handcart with three rubbermaid boxes full of research materials], she doesn't even have to lift it," "Ninja remembers the names of all the [2000+] childrens in the study and what classroom they're in," "Ninja can do data entry with her mind"). They're all true.
I tag...Jake, Laura, Annie, Becky, Patti the Moore, Stina, and Bre. Go!
