i have a poem here by the great Ralph Waldo Emerson.
"FORBEARANCE"
Hast though named all the birds without a gun?
loved the wood-rose, and left it on its stalk?
at rich mens tables eaten bread and pulse?
unarmed, faced danger with a heart of trust?
and loved so well a high behavior,
in man or maid, that thoughfrom speech refrained,
nobility more nobly to repay?
o, be my friend, and teach me to be thine!
to me this poem means that you can enjoy beauty without wrapping is in cellophane and selling to the masses.that nature is beauty, and those that can be part of nature without destroying it are the ones to look up to. emerson was a man who believed that the truly wise were those that embraced nature without harming it. he talks about this in his first book, "nature".published in 1836.it has really changed my life. pick it up sometime(along with a dictionary, its really hard to understand). .peace.
