Classes resume
Merlin, I'm sorry for not updating earlier- the professors are piling on work now- and our NEWTs are in a year and half.
I haven't actually had Potions yet, but Professor Snape is back from whereever he went, so I'll be sure to have a decent Potions class. It's rather disappointing- our batch of first years really aren't up to scratch- there's a particularly moronic girl with plaits who's ruined the 3-seater closest to the West fireplace. Daphne Greengrass isn't too pleased with the lack of a Head of House either, though that might be because McGonagall criticized her transfigured dormouse.
I've been wondering the fairness of common room allocation. Why is it that Gryffindor and Ravenclaw have towers, while Hufflepuff and Slytherin don't? And from what I've heard, they're light, airy, comfortable sorts of places. Hufflepuff are right near the kitchen too, I've heard.
The Slytherin Common room's underground, as we're in the dungeon. We're also partially under the lake- something I didn't pick up for 6 years- I know I'm unobservative. Always wondered why our windows had merpeople and Grindylows swimming part them- and here I was thinking it was some enchanted window, lol. It probably has an Unbreakable Charm cast on it- otherwise the lake'd just come slushing in on us. I've heard the Hogwarts toilets empty into the lake- uck.
I took a photo of the Slytherin common room the other day, before everyone else came back from Christmas break. Look at empty it is, lol.
I dare say I'm not supposed to reveal the location of my common room, but the photo doesn't show much, does it? It's in the inside, heh.
And here's a photo Daphne took about 5 years ago, lol. She has photos of nearly everyone in Slytherin- that's one of Crabbe and Goyle. We told them to smile and look our direction- but they didn't. It's a rather blurry photo-Daphne's hands must've been shaking at the time.
I think I rather like taking photos- though I probably won't look back on them in say, twenty years or so. Maybe I should take more shots of the castle and see how much it changes when my children attend Hogwarts, lol. Maybe Peeves will be gone by then, haha.
Must dash now. Charms Club is starting in 10 minutes- I'll need to scoot off to the kitchen first- I'm bringing the snacks this week. Merlin, up to the Entrance Hall then down the third corridor on the left to the Pear Portrait, then up three floors to one of the Charms rooms via the rickety staircase which has three random trick steps every other day. x_x;
Alright, I've got seven minutes to get up there. Do come to Charms Club- we're practising Conjuring charms! And there's free Danish buttercookies and pumpkin juice, hee:)
