Fortunately my mood has improved and I've managed to get some work done. I've been writing a lot of articles and I found out late Wednesday afternoon that a big article I wrote a few months ago on Ricardo Freda is going to be published in Paracinema, which is exciting news. The issue should be ready to ship before the holidays.

Yesterday I also made some good progress with music, namely re-recording some samples and mixing a track. It's a slow learning process, but is also very exciting when I finally get things right. We were supposed to have band practice last night, but after my hours of sound editing, we decided to blow it off for tofu hoagies, hot toddies and horror movies. Turns out because of the rainstorm the power went out, so we drank by candlelight and played card games. I felt like I was at camp. It was a good night.

This morning I woke up with my first cold of the season. I'm supposed to go to a screening of WORLD ON A WIRE tonight, but I can't stop coughing, so I don't think sitting through a three and a half hour movie is in my best interest. So far I've made tomato sauce, vegetable soup and butternut squash and I think I might make some ginger cookies, too. My head is too groggy to do much writing, but I can at least work up the enthusiasm to cook and bake.
