Ah, I so love the woefully inefficient Mass Transit system in Philadelphia. Nothing like taking an El to a train to a bus (and having to wait 45 minutes for that bus, because it only runs once an hour.) And people wonder why I get pissed whenever SEPTA goes on strike . . .

Made a new MD mix. This time it's Rock Vol. 2 since I promised I'd make a volume 2 last year! Getting slightly harder rock for this one, but nothing that will make your gums bleed. I'm being lazy so all the songs are in this one zip file:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/o8nv73 But here's the description and previews of the songs (in as best Chronological Order that I can remember them!)
"All Right Now" by Free - hard to believe that lead singer here, Paul Rodgers, is now the lead singer for Queen! Great rock tune--probably Free's biggest hit.
"Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith - the song came out in 1975, but that music video was made in the early 90s to coincide with their "Pandora's Box" Box Set. Great song with a great bass line.
"Feels Like the First Time" by Foreigner -
by request here's Foreigner's first hit, and in my opinion, their best tune.
"Crazy Train" by Ozzy Osbourne - one of Ozzy's best featuring the legendary Randy Rhodes
"Panama" by Van Halen - yeah, I wasn't really planning on carrying any artists from the 1st comp over to this one, but I felt that this tune from VH's 1984 would fit well. And it does!
Still of the Night by Whitesnake - Great, rockin' tune--highly reminiscent of Led Zeppelin (is any wonder why Jimmy Page went to David Coverdale when Robert Plant first turned him down for a Zep cover album?) Music video is good too . . . thanks to Tawny Kitaen!
"Wait" by White Lion - I remember this song being pretty popular at my school when it came out. I liked it because Vito Bratta did some cool guitar work in it. All the girls I knew who liked it, liked it because of the lead singer! My brother says this song could be a Journey song if you added some keyboards and Steve Perry XD
"Electric Gypsy" by L.A. Guns - Yep, the band that was referred to as "the other band from LA with 'Guns' in the title." This band's kind of an aquired taste. Mostly because lead singer Tracii Guns really wasn't much of a vocalist. Do like the guitars though.
"Runnin' Down a Dream by Tom Petty - great rockin' tune from Tom Petty's first solo album. Hand drawn animated video is pretty cool too!
"Fire Woman" by The Cult - I initially didn't like this song when it first came out, but it grew on me. Also like lead singer, Ian Astbury's vocals. He sounds like Glenn Danzig . . . just not insane.
"Winter's Call" by Badlands - yeah, another artist carried over from the 1st comp, but this unsung band needs all the exposure they can get. Song starts off slow, but gets down to business shortly. Especially love Jake E. Lee's guitar solo at the end.
"Love in an Elevator" by Aerosmith - yeah, I already have a 'smith tune on this mix, but it's an interesting comparison from their 70s work to their "rebirth" in the late 80s.
"Tough It Out" by Webb Wilder - always loved this song. My uncle, the blues guitarist, used to cover this song and close his gigs with it--and he normally didn't do too many rock tunes!
"Remedy" by The Black Crowes - Love the Black Crowes and this is one my faves from them. They still tour, and I always mean to try to go see one of their shows. Someday . . .
"Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz - I started to like Lenny Kravitz when he released the album Mama Said. I started to love him when he released this song. Yet another one of the few rock tunes my uncle would cover!
"Hell on High Heels" by Motley Crue - Okay, last band to make the cut from the 1st comp! Here's the Crue doing their best AC/DC impression. Hell, even Mick Mars' solo sounds like one Angus Young would do!
"Slither" by Velvet Revolver - first hit from The Band Formerly Known as Guns N' Roses. The band seems to be on the outs since lead singer Scott Weiland reunited with Stone Temple Pilots, but doesn't mean we can't enjoy what the Revolver has out right now!
So that's that. Oh and if you don't want to download the whole package up there, lemme know which songs you want and I'll see about uploading each one singularly . . . maybe.
