Being an Ignorant is a Sin

Today I’ve seen how cruel society is to those unfortunate and weak. Earlier, I passed by a middle-aged, naked woman sitting on the sidewalk opposite the Amigo Mall. She seems to be having a mental problem (who else in their right mind would be sitting naked in the middle of the street?!). She’s sitting looking confused with the obvious traces of dried blood between her thighs which ran down her legs. This made me wonder what happened to her previously. But oblivious to the woman’s conditions comes the sneering faces of adults embedded with malice and disgust!
And while I’m walking with the crowd, the pathetic image of the woman still flashes in my mind. Then, I’ve noticed someone tugging my bag and when I turned around, I saw a man. His hands was still working on my bag’s zipper, and he too, almost jump in surprise and quickly turned away and disappeared with the crowd. That idiot! [Kung wai nagd sya inugbakal drugs indi ya pagdalihigon ang iban!] And after what happened, no one even noticed. What a bunch of ignorant people!
So, is this the ‘ideal’ world everybody wants to live in? Is this how people show their respect to one another? If the answer is ‘YES’ I’ll rather be ashamed of myself being labelled as a FILIPINO than claiming this kind of citizenship where society only judge people based on their appearance, and taking advantage of some else’ benevolence is their favourite pastime! The hell!
No wonder nga.a wai naga asenso Pilipinas kay.
