Who: Shiori and Kurama (Shishiwakamaru)
Where: Kurama's house and park
When: Sunday evening
Summary: Giving Shiori the gift from Kurama and sushi in the park.
Shishi had no idea how to give the gift Kurama had given him to Shiori, he had been avoiding the kitsune's family for the most part. He found his way to Shiori's room, intending to leave the bag in there. He peeked in the room first, blinking.
The elder woman had been sitting on her bedside, wondering if her son would be coming by for a visit. Shiori sighed gently, no call, no message of any sort came to her and she grew worried. This wasn't like her little boy, he'd at least give her some sort of call or message. Looking around, she suddenly got up and quietly made her way to her bed standing, staring at a picture of herself and her Shuuichi when he was younger; she could not help but smile sadly. "He's grown up now," she whispered, "Maybe he's just running late and didn't have anytime to ring me up."
He winced at seeing Shiori but ventured into the room nonetheless, it was best to just get this over with as soon as possible and hope he didn't mess up. Shishi could easily tell that Shuuichi was close to his mother so this was...odd for him.
Shiori turned, hearing some shuffling noises. Her dark eyes lighting up greatly as she finally saw her son. "Shuuichi!" she exclaimed as she hurried on over and gave him a motherly hug. It had been sometime since she last saw him, maybe that is why she acted a bit over excited. Although, she did not care at the moment, she finally saw her boy.
Kurama blinked when she hugged him, not sure what to do for a few moments. but he finally hugged her back, awkard. "Um, happy mother's day," he put on a smile, not sure how he was supposed to act.
The woman smiled as she pulled away, "Yes, thank you, dearest." Giving him another gentle hug, she ushered him to her bedside and sat down. "I'm very happy to see you, Shuuichi. What have you been up to these past days?"
"I have been busy and feeling a little under the weather," he lied and sat beside her. "but I wanted to give this to you for Mother's Day..." he said, offering her the bag.
"I see," she nodded and placed a fiar hand on his shoulder, "Well, it seems that you're better." Her gaze then fell downward, staring at the bag, "For me? Oh, thank you Shuuichi." She smiled again, taking the bag, "Shall I open it?"
"Of course," he smiled softly and nodded. He glanced around the room, noticing the picture of Shuuichi when he was younger and tried not to smirk with amusement.
"Alright then," she chuckled softly as she opened the bag, "Lets see what you've gotten me this year." She laughed once again, being used to the Mother's Day gifts she had receieved from him.
Shishi had no idea what the gift was, other then it must have been fragile since Kurama had warned him to be careful with it. Inside the bag was a porcelain cup decorated with design of flowers and plants.
Fragile hands gently picked up the cup and studied it. Her gaze studying the floral designs. Turning it around, it kept the same design on both sides. She then turned to Shuuichi again, her eyes shining with a motherly love, "Oh, dearest, it's beautiful."
At the bottom of the bag was a matching tea kettle as well. But Shishi put on a smile, putting on the dutiful son act " You are very welcome "
"A set?" she questioned as she set aside the cup and picked up the kettle, hearing a bit of a click when the bottom of her ring gently bumped with the glass object. "Yes, thank you... I adore it. I shall put it with my China ware."
"Yes, it is..." he nodded. He thought it was strange holiday, giving gifts to parents but....he had to at least pretend to be nice to get out of this situation. "I am glad you like it...Mother"
The woman nodded as she got up, gently tucking the set back in the bag, "Yes. Oh! Since you're here, have you eaten? You must be hungry..."
"I havn't had a chance to eat all day," he admitted thoughtfully, assuming she would have someone else cook something.
"Really?" she questioned, "Well, I was about to make a snack for myself, would you like some? You must be really hungry, dear... Since you haven't eaten all day. Come now, lets grab something." The woman chuckled lightly, taking his hand and guiding him to the kitchen where she fondly placed her new set on the table.
"Do you have sushi?" he asked hopefully as he followed her. He hadn't eaten much over the last few days so he was hungry, not used to being human with a heavier body.
"Sushi? I think so," she answered as she set aside the set with her other Chinaware. Shiori shuffled her way toward the fridge, looking for the certain snack her son had requested. "Hmmm, at least... I thought we did. Well, we could always go get some, dear. If you don't mind the walk."
He pondered this for a moment, debating whether it was worth it. "I do not mind a walk at all," Shishi smiled after a moment.
"Alright, let me change then," she spoke as she got up, "Just wait here, I'll be out in a few minutes." With that she quickly made her way toward her room.
Kurama nodded and waited, leaning against the table as he looked around the kitchen, curious.
As she promised, it only took her a matter of minutes before she came back out, in some casual wear. She allowed her hair to be let loose and put some of her usual make up on as well. "I'm back, you ready to go, Shuuichi?" she asked, returning to the kitchen where her son was currently occupying.
"Yes, I am," he smiled and nodded. "Shall we go then?" he offered, heading towards the front door. He could be polite when he wanted to, especially when he wanted sushi.
She laughed softly and nodded as she followed his suite and headed out. Locking the door, she advanced in front of him, making her way toward a small market where it selled a various amount of sushi rolls with a cheap price.
He put his hands in his pocket since he didn't have kimono sleeves to tuck his hands in as he followed her silently, unsure of what to say.
"Would you like to eat out or come back to the house," she suddenly asked, turning a bit. He was acting somewhat strange, call it a mother's intuition. Although she still kept her expression.
"Hm, let's eat out,"he said, the house...especially Kurama's room, made him uncomfortable. The fresh air was nice, even being surrounded by humans.
"Alright," she nodded, "I know of a perfect spot in the park for our small picnic." It was nice out, not too hor, nor was it too cold, just the perfect tempreture to eat out.
"Alright, sounds good," Shishiwakamaru nodded in agreement, brushing some strands of red hair back out of his eyes.
Shiori could only nod. Time had past through and she found herself at the mini market. Ushering her son to pick out what he wanted, she remained quiet. She could feel it, this wasn't her son, even if everything seemed to fit. Although, she remained to act the same, there was probably a reason behind this, but, she did not really want to know.
Shishi picked and ordered the sushi he wanted. He was trying his best to act like Kurama but everything was still awkward, his mannerisms were quite different from the kitsune's.
After paying for it, Shiori took the bag and guided herself and Shuuichi toward the park. It was a short distance from the mini mart, so it was only a matter of minutes when they finally got there. Looking around she found a nice, quiet spot near small stream and under some blooming trees.
Shishi had to admit this was lovely area. "This is a nice place," he commented with a smile as he sat beside her, retying his red hair again...it annoyed him how it constantly slipped out of hair ties.
"Ever thought of getting it cut again, Shuuichi?" she asked him. She had noticed him playing with her hair a lot and maybe thought he'd be annoyed by it. Smiling she sat down and placed the small boxes of sushi rolls in front of them and opening the boxes. "Eat up, dear."
If Shishi didn't have to at least try being nice to Kurama, he would have agreed. "I thought about it but I am not sure about it," he admitted with a chuckle, taking a piece of sushi.
"I see," she smiled as she too took a piece of shushi, "But if you happen to change your mind, I know of a person who would cut it. A friend of mine, I suppose."
"I willl keep it in mind, thank you," he smiled, neatly eating the sushi. It had been a while since he had had good sushi...
Shiori could only nod as she dipped a piece into some soy sauce. "So, anything interesting happen lately?"
"Um, not really, I have had a lot of schoolwork lately," he lied though the truth was, he had hardly been going to school since he wanted to avoid the others in this mission.
"I see, well, don't work too hard and get some rest," she spoke, in a tone that would consider, motherly, "You've studied hard and I'm very proud of you, dear."
Shishi looked up at her, surprised. His own mother was so different from Shiori, this left him without words for a few moments. "Thank you....I do try my best," he recovered after a few moments with that charming smile upon his face once more.
"I'll take your word for it," she smiled back, taking another bite of the sushi. Her gaze turned to the stream, a small breeze blew by, sending some strains of her dark hair back. "It's quite nice out, don't you think?"
"It is, it's so nice to be outside after studying so much..." he chuckled. Being cooped up in Kurama's room got very stifling very fast.
"Fresh air can do wonders," she added, "It's wonderful out. I should maybe camp out tonight, I hear it'll be just as nice as it is now." Shiori chuckled gently, the idea seemed innocent enough, but she was a grown woman.
"Sleep outside?" he paused, blinking. "But doesn't it get colder at night?" he asked before eating another piece of sushi.
"It may, but that is what blankets are for, dear," she turned to him, smiling somewhat childishly.
"But there are bugs," he wrinkled his nose at the thought. "and bugs bite..."
"It is nature, dear," she continued to look at him, "Usually, you'd like the idea, at least, when you were younger."
"Heh, oh that's right. Well, I havn't done it in a while, I suppose," he admitted, trying to cover his mistake.
"If you say so," she smiled, "You're growing up, I suppose things like these would be too childish."
"That's true, and I suppose I have changed over the years," he nodded as he finished his sushi.
Shiori kept quiet at this one, but she did smile her response. "We should get going then, Hatanaka is planning on taking me out to dinner when he comes home. Would you like to come with us?"
"No, thank you,"he shook his head as he stood. He had no idea who Hatanaka was and he thought it best to avoid anymore awkward situations, "Thank your the sushi, mother."
"Oh, well alright," she somewhat looked disappointed but smiled anyway, "I suppose you're busy. But you're welcome, dear and thank you for the gifts, they were lovely."
"You're welcome," he smiled nicely, not noticing the look of disappointment on her face. If everyone was going to be out for the evening, he could find some sake and rest for the rest of the evening in quiet...
