Nice little things: Lemon cookies, brisk walks, and making chicken pies.
Managed to get some writing done today. I'm glad.
So, that knocks the SSSSForum Advent Calendar fic off the to-do list. Sort of. It's mostly finished, but I don't know... I'm at the minimum wordcount, at least, but it could be better. I think I might sit on it for a day or two, and then see if I want to expand it. Currently it's a drabble sequence, but it might be better at 200 words per scene.
It's not likely that I'll be participating in the SSSSForum Advent Calendar next year. So, maybe next year I'll do my own personal project, some kind of... countdown to Solstice, or something. Little fics posted every day. Who knows.
nanslice made me think of the idea - I'd like to do it this year, but I have too many commitments, so... maybe next year. Who knows.
Also managed to finish drafting another thing that is due, something that will be posted before the end of the month. I'm much more satisfied with it than the Advent thing. It was a hellofalot easier, too - think it's partly due to being more motivated, but also because I warmed up a little before working on it.
It's a while before that Hetalia charity zine fic is due, and ditto for the Silent Night exchange fic. So I might pluck away at something else for a little while, though I'm not sure what. I have some vague ideas for Hetalia things, mostly Rus/Nor. And some unfinished SSSS & aRTD things that could use attention. And way too many Yuri on Ice ideas (all Leo/Guang Hong, of course).
Tangent: Speaking of Leo/Guang Hong, man, this pairing slots so nicely into so many of my romance narrative preferences... one of the things I've learned about my tastes from APH fandom is that I like cultural differences, and I like long-distance relationships, and these two have that in spades. Though that could be said for a lot of pairings in this fandom, really (though Victor/Yuuri, for example, doesn't have the physical distance going on, since they're living together and seem to intend to do so for the foreseeable future). But China -> USA sure is quite a jump. So many fun differences - and barriers - to play with.
...And of course the canon interaction helps. I can hardly believe that it went from Guang Hong going "Wow, Leo is so cool" in one episode to "I am going to visualize sacrificing myself for him" in the next. It's like I got smacked upside the head with a prettily-wrapped package containing almost everything that I like.
(I could gush about them more, but I'll restrain myself for now, hah. Especially since I have some half-formed thoughts that I'd like to cook for a while longer.)
Ahhh, well. Anyway. Time to do my nails and watch some China Cup figure skating... the real one, not the one in YOI. I missed the live coverage, but thankfully I have easy access to the actual performances, sans commentary. Bless CBC. <3
