Three things make a post

☆ Received a package in the mail today, and man, am I ever happy about it. I'd ordered some earrings, and I'm so glad they arrived before my vacation. See, I used to wear looong beaded earrings all the time Back In The Day, but had to give it up because it always hurt my ears, since they'd never been pierced properly. But, now that I had them redone and they have been healed perfectly for a while now, I want to start wearing that kind of thing again, because I like them so much. *_* Next I'll probably try getting my hands on something like this... maybe not those exact ones, they're a little bit TOO long for frequent wear, but yes.

☆ Watched the 1931 version of Frankenstein last night. I've never seen that one before - there are in fact a lot of classic horror films that I've never watched. This one, well, it's pretty easy to see why it's a classic. Sure, it's kind of cheesy by modern standards, but it's still pretty impressive; I liked it a lot. And I think I want to re-read the novel. The film took many departures, of course, and I think I liked the film's ending better, though I don't remember the novel clearly enough to be absolutely certain. I do know that at times I felt quite... sympathetic for the monster. Also, confession: there's this one scene, directly when the reanimated monster is introduced, when the light hits him just so and he's... bizarrely attractive?? щ(◉Д◉щ) I DON'T KNOW - I'll put it down to good lighting + Boris Karloff having very striking features under all that makeup.

☆ I just remembered that the Vic Theatre exists. Ahhhh <3 Yesss I'm totally looking forward to going to see something there when I'm in Victoria. It reminds me so much of the theatre down in Wolfville (I really wish I had gone to more films/plays/concerts there than I did; it was so nice, I should have made the time). I wish we had something like that up here, but Fort Mac isn't really... artsy enough to support a small independent theatre. In fact, I feel like we're barely big enough to support the cinema that we do have, pf. Ah, well....
