From the regional library website:
We will remain closed until 9am on Monday, July 4th. We can't wait to see you all again!

I second that emotion. Do I ever. ...Not that I have any shortage of books to read, but I'm in one of those moods where I'm looking at the stacks of books in my room, throwing up my hands, and going, "I HAVE NOTHING TO READ". :P Plus, y'know. Little bits of normalcy....
I went down to one of the downtown cafes today. It was so nice to be there again. Best coffee 'n sandwiches in the city, and just - it was nice. PLUS I got a lot of writing done! It's a niche thing (SSSS, but OCs only, therefore limited audience) so, no need to rush, which is good because I have a lot of fic deadlines that I need to be keeping an eye on. But yeah, it was nice to slap some words down.
I ran into S, the person who ran the writing group I was in, the one that started last November and continued until we decided to dissolve it in April. It was nice to see her again. Unfortunately, her house was in one of the affected areas. There's nothing left. Ugh, hopefully dealing with the insurance companies will be as quick and efficient as possible. (It never is, but... y'know.)
Back to work tomorrow... On the one hand: Ugh, 5-AM getup. On the other hand: yay, work! <3
