☆ Today got off to such a bad start. Woke up with an enormous migraine, couldn't keep down breakfast, and ended up going back to bed and curling up under the blankets until noon. I had so many plans - going for a run, doing some shopping, heading down to the cinema - but none of that panned out, needless to say. Oh well. Maybe another day.
☆ I received a post slip in the mail. Probably is the nerdy package I ordered a couple of weeks ago... I do hope that it's that. So, plans for tomorrow are: bus to the post office, and lunch at the Japanese joint in that area. Should be nice. I'm looking forward to it.
☆ Managed to get a lot of good work done on my Yuletide fic. Had written a bit previously, but... I re-read it a couple days ago, and hated every single word, so I decided on a complete change of direction and restart. I'm not going to scrap the previous work completely just yet, but it requires so much revision that I think I'll just leave it until next year or something, so that I can look at it with fresh eyes. But if I do post that stuff anywhere, it'll probably be Roesslyng Archive only, not Ao3. I'm just not comfortable with it. The thing I started writing today, though...! I'm really having a lot of fun with it, and hopefully the recipient will enjoy it too.
☆ Just gonna' link this Ex Machina discussion, because I enjoyed it. Lots of interesting ideas in that thread; maybe I'll be able to crib some of them for fic purposes, I dunno'. I love the idea of always-a-woman Nathan and Caleb; that's probably the only context in which Nathan/Caleb actually interests me. I guess it's because "buff fratty asshole guy" is a character type I hate, but "buff fratty asshole woman" is unusual enough in media that it's still a novelty. (Can you tell I dislike Nathan? I CAN'T STAND NATHAN. Then again, he is supposed to be unlikeable.) Also, "I still choose to interpret Ava's first encounter with Kyoko as "oh wow, I am gay, let's commit some murder". YES. WHAT THIS NONNY SAID. I mean, I never thought about it in that way before, but yes yes yes, I love it. Give me all the murder robot girlfriends, please. (Kyokooooo! ;-; )
