✿ Yesterday I spontaneously wrote some femSweden/Norway, set during the Kalmar Union. It's over
here. It's really a pairing I should write more often - I like it. Though I will admit that part of the amusement I got out of writing that was seeing how many lioness comparisons I could stuff into one short fic, haa.
✿ I commissioned Anneliese for another fabulous drawing, this time
Hannu and Ville from aRTD. Oh my gods I love this so much; I think I might need to size it up for a wallpaper. It's been ages since I changed, and maybe I'm due for one. It's just way too pretty. And Hannu's hair looks so ruffleable. *_*
✿ Speaking of aRTD, was kind of fiddling around with a new idea today, but... I look at my notes, and then I look at the stuff I already have in progress, and I'm like, can I justify starting a new story? Well, maybe if it's short... I don't know if I will upload this one anywhere except my archive if I do write and finish it. It's just a terribly niche pairing, I'm probably the only one out there who likes it. (Jonna/Riikka - they hardly even have any interaction in the comic, I just think they would be very cute.)
✿ It's a little odd that I'm so focused on the human interaction in aRTD. I mean, in a comic stuffed to the gills with magic and mythology, I latch onto that? The most mundane, least-sparkly thing in the entire comic? But when I think about it, I guess it makes sense - because we get lots of the magic in the comic itself, but don't get to spend a lot of time getting to know the human characters, so it's understandable that I'd want to spend more time with them. Most of the magic-related ideas I have are for altcanon scenarios (like that "what if Paju had to go down the bird's path instead" idea I'm so fond of) while the mundane stuff is all character building.
✿ I really should re-read the Kalevala though. I might get some ideas from it. Since I found my copy of it, there's no excuse! Except that reading is going slowly lately; The Guns of August is taking me forever to get through. But I think I might just be overtired; I keep dozing off during my commute, which isn't very helpful.
