So, I've started listening to Welcome to Night Vale. I'm able to wear earphones at work, and since I've been getting a little tired of my playlists, I decided to try something different. So far, it's exactly what I expected it to be, so I'm pretty pleased. Well, it's actually better than I expected.
Only listened to the first episode so far, though. I have a lot of long work days ahead, so I'm trying to ration them. ;p
Started a translation project. Mostly I'm just trying to force myself to look at Norwegian for a certain period every day. So, I picked up one of my parallel-text books of poetry (I have two now), copied down a few short poems without looking at the English versions, and threw them up into tables in googledocs so that I can try translating them. I'm aiming to try to do maybe one line per day. It isn't much, but it's better than nothing.
The problem is that these poems are by Olav H Hauge. And he wrote in nynorsk. Most of the studying I've been doing is in bokmål for obvious reasons... So I'm making this a little more frustrating for myself than it could be, because I'm running into a lot of words that aren't in my dictionaries. BUT... at least there is Wikitionary. So far it has been very helpful. :V
We'll see how long I keep up this experiment before I give up, haha.
