Using someone else's computer is like wearing someone else's shoes
Well, I took my laptop in for repairs. It's been a long time coming; ever since last summer I've been unable to run it for extended periods of time without a cooling pad going, otherwise it'd shut itself right off. And recently, after about 10 minutes of Eurovision, it basically said "Nope" and turned itself off. It's probably a minor problem, likely that the fan needs to be replaced or something. I'd do it myself, but I honestly don't have a lot of experience with taking computers apart and whatnot, so I'd rather have to deal without it for a few days.
There are other computers in the house that I can use during the time that it's gone (should only be until the 30th or so) but I'll still be around a little less just because of the inconvenience factor. (... and the fact that my mother seems to have commandeered my netbook for her own movie-watching use. Uh.) Well, that's fine, I have a lot of books that I want to read, but yeah. I guess my main concern is that this will make getting writing done more difficult. Maybe I should just scribble my drafts on paper... even for the ones that I started writing digitally.
To be honest, I've been thinking of taking a little break anyway, just because life in general has been frustrating, so maybe this is a good thing.
Anyway. Lately the APH anon meme has been seriously discussing a move to Dreamwidth. Most of the responses have been in favour. We don't have an absolute answer from the mod yet, but it looks like we might do it. In that case, I will probably be moving over there for good. My entries will be crossposted to here, and I'll still check my flist, but I'll be posting from there. LJ has been having too many issues lately, and I think I'm pretty much fed up with it. It's too bad, because I do like LJ, but... given the way that I use it, the issues it's been having are too much of a pain in the ass for me to keep using it on a regular basis.
So, that's that. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do some writing this weekend. Finding any time to myself is really difficult because people just plain aren't leaving me the hell alone and it's really bothersome.
