Chronicled Time: Prepare III

Perhaps she might have said more in the privacy of his mind but Azreth moved then, stepping forward. The papers crunch under his feet as he takes a couple steps forward and she winces at the sound. She looks mournfully at the papers she's worked so hard on.

"Can you not step on those? I spent the last three days working on them." She speaks ( Read more... )

He already has found value in me, that's why he uses me. [Azreth looks at Zexion for a moment, confusion evident on his face.] Of course I know Zen is using me. I'm glad he's using me. As long as he uses me, I'm useful to him. As long as he uses me, I have a purpose.[Azreth's going to be a hard one to crack, Zexion. Zen does envoke strong emotions from him but usually only when they are together. He is also easily swayed by words--but only Zen's words. He is so wrapped up in his twisted obsession with Zen that he can't really seem to see anything else. Pressing his buttons is easy once you find them. However, they're harder to find than most would think. He has only two buttons regarding Zen.]

Force him to look my way? Give him no choice but to notice me? [Azreth laughs at this and he almost sounds human. Almost.] There's no way to force Zen to do anything! If there was, I'd have already found it.

[He pauses, contemplating Zexion's last words. A slow, evil smirk spreads across his face.] Bringing him the book? Of course we want that book but it is useless without the Scribe! Do you nothing of her or that book? [He laughs again and it is cold, cruel. His eyes betray his contempt.] Our little Scribe is keeping sec--rets...

[Before he can finish the sentence, Yuu-chan's blade has withdrawn from the illusion only to stab his sternum.] He can learn of the secrets of the book in good time. [Yuu-chan follows her blade. There are nicks and large gashes covering her arms, chest and stomach. Even as she speaks, they repair themselves. It is clear that the battle against Zen is not going well. She withdraws her sword, not surprised when he stumbles but his wound begins repairing itself.] I wanted to take a little break from the battle. Had I known you were so chatty, I would have fought you instead of Zen. [She glances at Zexion and nods once, tossing the sword at his feet.] Use this. His specialty may be controling blood, but if his own is spilt, he can't control yours. Good luck. [She phases out of the illusion, disappearing.]

[Well, it was worth a shot. But he's not interested in drawing this all out too long. He figured he'd hit the obvious spots first and see where it went. If he needs to go back to that he will-but it seems he's been given a weapon. A sword. Well... He gives a sigh as he picks it up. Fighting with swords is not his thing. Not at all. Though he's seen Saix training with his claymore in the past. Even so, watching isn't the same as doing. Trying can't hurt, but he was actually about to try something else. Oh well.]

Well, I suppose if you really do want the book, you had best start trying harder to get it.

[Once he's got a good hold on the sword, he darts forward. He's more speed than power, but the weight of the sword certainly slows him down a bit.]
