Summary: Chinen and Ryutaro are best friends and Chinen promised not to leave Ryutaro... They met new friends, but their closeness is still the same. and Ryutaro has somehow, hidden feelings towards his best friend. But Chinen met someone that somehow broke their friendship. Will they be able to get their friendship back?

Yamada is the popular guy in the school. He’s just a year ahead but he’s the same age with Chinen. It was when Chinen was running in the hallways when he suddenly slipped and Yamada was there in time to catch Chinen. Before Chinen’s butt can meet the floor, Yamada pulled him, landing Chinen’s body on his. Their height is not that far from each other so when Chinen looked to see his saver, his heart skipped a beat seeing Yamada looking at him, studying his face, while the latter’s hand is around his waist.
“Are you okay?” Yamada asked and Chinen immediately snapped back after hearing his voice while stepping back to get away with Yamada’s hold but he’ll be lying if he he’ll say he doesn’t like Yamada’s warmth.
“I-I’m okay. T-Thank you, senpai.” Chinen replied as he bowed and dashed off to where Ryutaro is now. But the fast beating of his heart didn’t waver.

“Chii, did you knock your head or something?” Ryutaro asked as he saw Chinen having a dreamy face while both of them are walking towards their houses. But it seems like Chinen didn’t hear him. “Chii?” He called him again but Chinen is still in his own world. He went closer and closer to Chinen until his face is merely inches away from Chinen. And it seems like Chinen is still enclosed in his own world and Ryutaro thought of something. He leaned towards Chinen’s ear, smirking, and he said, “Yuri,” in a very hoarse voice before licking Chinen’s earlobe making the smaller guy squeak.
Ryutaro laughed hard at Chinen’s reaction. His face is as red as tomato, one of his hands is on his ear, and no one will be able to beat Chinen’s surprised face.
“RYU-CHAN!” Chinen scolded him as he playfully punches the younger guy playfully.
Ryutaro is still laughing and Chinen can only puff his cheeks and pout. Chinen stomped his feet off away from Ryutaro but the latter still caught him, wrapping his arm on the younger guy’s shoulder. Readers, No. both of them are not dating. Ryutaro just casually put his arm around Chinen’s neck, pulling the latter close to him and Chinen didn’t budge out. He loves Ryutaro’s warmth. Much better than Yamada’s so he just let him be. But why is his heart thumping so loud? Is it because he’s thinking of Yamada just now?
“Are you two dating?” Ryutaro was taken aback by Yuto’s question and he can only choke his food since they’re eating lunch already.
“How come you can say that?” Ryutaro asked back.
“I saw you two yesterday, so I thought you two are dating.” Yuto concluded and Ryutaro can only deny. Well, there’s really nothing between him and Chinen the Ryutaro hopes there is. “And I know you like Chinen.” He likes Chinen for years already but he just doesn’t show it, afraid that Chinen will leave him knowing that he likes him. Plus, if they’ll be a couple, then they’ll break up, there’s a possibility that their friendship will break and Chinen will leave him because things will never be the same as before so Ryutaro prefers on keeping it than risking his and Chinen’s friendship. “Where’s Chinen?” Yuto asked.
“Oh, he said he got some works to do. A senior went to him earlier and asked him a favor.” Ryutaro replied and Yuto just nodded. “How about Keito?”
“Ah, he got band practice for the upcoming school festival.” Yuto replied. School festival, huh? Ryutaro thought.

“Ryu-chan! I’m sorry!” Chinen said as he clapped his hands once and bowed down. Ryutaro is waiting for Chinen to come down from their school building but he was greeted by Chinen’s apology.
“And what are you apologizing for?” Ryutaro asked.
“I think I won’t be able to go home with you starting tomorrow.” Chinen replied quite nervous with that Ryutaro’s reaction will be.
“And why is that?” Ryutaro asked, raising one of his brows.
“W-well, Yamada-senpai called me earlier. He asked me if I can participate on Drama’s Club event for the school festival. And well, I accepted it.” Chinen replied, rubbing his temple.
“What time will your practice end?” Ryutaro asked again.
“Maybe 7 or 7:30 pm.”
“That late?! I’ll just wait for you here-“
“No, No, Ryu-chan. Yamada-senpai told me that he’ll send me home. So I’ll be okay.” Ryutaro is quite hesitant to agree on letting others to walk his squirrel home but Chinen’s assuring smile makes him nod.
Soccer club practice starts at 5 and ends at 6:30pm but Chinen’s drama practice starts at 6:00pm. He got permission to their coach and it was granted. Chinen and Ryutaro’s time together lessen because of the fact that Chinen is almost together with Yamada, practicing for their lines since Chinen will play as the prince in the story.
Ryutaro can see a clear view of Chinen and Yamada practicing from the window of their classroom in the second floor and a tinge of jealousy came to him when Chinen laughed with Yamada, when he smile to Yamada and the way he looks at Yamada is different. There are what? Sparkles in his eyes? His eyes are twinkling?
“Don’t get jealous easily, Ryutaro.” Yuto said as he stood beside Ryutaro.
“No, I’m not.” Ryutaro defended himself though his eyes are still glued on the two.
Yuto sighed and looked at Yamada and Chinen too. “It’s been what? 2 weeks already since both of you don’t go home together? And I haven’t seen you going to school together too.”
“It’s because that Yamada told Chii that he’ll send him to school and home.” Ryutaro said nonchalantly but Yuto can hear the tone of jealousy there. “I don’t know why but Chii agreed to him.” Ryutaro groaned and faced away from the two. “You know, ever since before, Chii only chooses me. But I don’t know now, why it is like that.”
“Maybe Chinen likes Yamada-senpai?” and with that, Ryutaro looked at the taller guy. “Because even love can top the friendship you and Chinen have.”
“I don’t think so-“
“I’m not telling this Ryutaro because I want you and Chinen to be separated. But I was stating the fact here since the same thing happened to me before.” Yuto said and now, the usual hyper Yuto is pretty serious. “But sometimes, it depends on the person. But sometimes, too much love overflows that people often forgot the existence of someone else. I was on the same boat with you before.” Yuto laughed hurtfully and directed his gaze towards a certain person. “My friend neglected me when he had a relationship with one of my senpais when we are in middle school. No matter how many times I told him not to believe everything that our senpai is saying because he’s just lying, he won’t believe me who is his friend for almost 8 years while he believed the guy that he loves whom he knew for less than a year. Our senpai is cheating on him and when I told him about it, he got angry at me, telling me not to even get close to him or talk to him. He said I’m the worst best friend.”
“I don’t know what happened between them since I never talked to him again. I didn’t even ask for an apology because of the fact that I’m telling the truth and because I, myself was hurt with what he said. I do hate him before because of that. Then months later, all I knew is, they broke up and my friend changed schools. Until now, both of us are not in speaking terms. Whenever we passed by each other, it seems like, we never had that strong bond of friendship before.” Yuto said still having his eyes on a certain person and Ryutaro looked at where Yuto is looking at and it’s on Chinen and Yamada’s direction .He ruffled Ryutaro’s hair and said, “So Ryu, you should be careful. I don’t want you to experience what I experienced before. I don’t want anyone to leave you again, got that?” Therefore, Ryutaro concluded, Yuto has a very mature thinking when it comes to serious things because now, Yuto is already teasing Keito with the bassist of Keito’s band.
Ryutaro looked again at Chinen and Yamada then sighed.
Before class ended, Ryutaro told Chinen to meet him up on Saturday at the park near the cake shop 7:30pm after Chinen’s practice. He promised that Rain or shine, he’ll wait. And Chinen happily agreed because it’s been a long time since he and Ryutaro hang out together.
Saturday came and the sun is shining brightly. It’s still early in the morning but Ryutaro is already choosing his clothes to wear and his plans for the night. Chinen on the other hand is already on his way to their school for their practice. Both of them can’t wait to meet up later.
Night came and the rain suddenly poured and it’s almost 8 in the evening. Chinen already informed Ryutaro that the practice will end at 8 and it seems like their practice keeps on going on and when the rain poured even harder, Chinen practically jumped off the stage and took his things.
“Where are you going?” Yamada asked grabbing Chinen’s arm and Chinen immediately replied. “Ryu-chan is waiting for me and it’s raining really hard and almost 8:30.”
“It’s raining, you might get sick.” Yamada reasoned out in a worried tone as he moved his arm from Chinen’s arm to the latter’s hand, clasping their fingers together.
“But Ryu-chan…” Chinen blushed madly but he really wants to go already but the way Yamada held his hand, he can’t even think straight.
Yamada went closer to Chinen and kissed his forehead, “It’s raining hard and I bet he already found a shelter. Just text him that you can’t go, okay?” Chinen doesn’t know but it seems like Yamada has hypnotism that he immediately did what the latter told him.

i got the plot on one of the scenes in a local drama entitled, "Princess and I".. if some of you are from philippines and watched that drama... the scene on the next chap will be quite the same with Gino and Mikay's scene on one of the episodes of Princess and I... haha.. xD
