That the Vatican has issued the
Ten Commandments for Drivers feels really really weird to me. Like borderline uncomfortable. Does it feel weird to anyone else?
For one thing, most of these I feel can be completely covered by the umbrella of common sense ("you shall not kill"). For another, it seems like the "sin" factor was just kind of tacked on haphazardly. Observe:
5. Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin.
Does this mean Lover's Lane is shut down permanently?
Maybe it's the fact that this feels like -- albeit oh so slight -- an infringement of that whole minor "separation of church and state" thing. Like almost that they're trying to prove that religion and politics can peacefully coexist as well as contribute to the same rule base. Or maybe I'm just tired.
