Random Post & Missing Flight...
Yawn.... Cold in HK, then very very cold in Beijing, then now a little warm in HK. This weekend, it'll be hot in BKK. Next week cold in Shanghai again.. IF I get there. I supposed to go there for a month from next Monday but the budget is still not approved till now.
Finally, I managed to find that building with the giant screen roof in Beijing. It's called THE PLACE. I took a cab to the Beijing Cali gym and turn out to be the building I was looking for. Very nice. the cali gym is also very spacious and nice.. so are the instructors and trainers. Gosh.. anyone of them can be a Top Model in Singapore. Then there's the Opposite House with the Mesh Bar. I am looking forward to visit the LAN Bar. Apparently it's 100,000+sqf of Philippe Starck's design. And it seems he was given an unlimited amount of budget. Too bad I didn't have the time this trip. Now.. it should be Amazing China! Incredible China! Uniquely China!
On another note, the night when I arrived, I actually witnessed the fire of the CWTC Extension Tower. I was on a taxi from the airport. I told the taxi driver but he kept insisting that it's the fireworks coz it's the 15th Day of Lunar New Year. He even claim that it's impossible for the building to catch fire. Nah!
Another random thought last week is that we always see images or videos being posted on the internet, making fun of the Chinese' lousy English. I was wondering if the day will come when we start making fun of the ang moh's lousy chinese! haha.. maybe they are too polite to do that.
Final point, someone shared this with me.. so funny. Reminded me of the time when I missed my flight in HK airport and had to stay overnight at the airport. hmm.. maybe I should have done this. At least I'll be famous like her. She brought up a good suggestion in the end. Next time, I'll ask my colleague to board first while I shop. Then, if I can't get onto the flight, we'll both make big rara, one at the gate, one in the plane!!!
