One sad thing about today. I had early class at 9am today.
My alarm went off at 7am. It snoozes on its own. It stopped going off on its own. I woke up naturally.
It was 8:58am. Holy crap I was freaking out. But I managed to get out of the door and to class the fastest ever from the moment of waking. Got to campus at 9:33am. That's only 35 minutes from jumping out of my bed to sitting down in my seat. Although I looked like shit.
But on to the happy things.
I'm excited for my class at the playhouse because I'm going to be learning more things starting Wednesday! More practical and technical things about sewing and costume construction. I'm taking positive steps towards my career goals, and it's something tangible... literally!
I'm also excited to have a new conversation partner. I usually help students practice English who are from the Extension program, but I'm often too shy to practice my Japanese with them in exchange. But today, she asked me to introduce myself in Japanese and we just kept going from there. I was surprised at myself for how fast I was talking and what I was saying. I'm sure I wasn't always grammatically correct but at least I was talking, and she said she understood me. She's a lot of fun too. The time just flew. She apparently was also here for her senior year of high school and she was in Interact. She might even join Circle K. lol.
Maybe I've built up enough confidence to actually speak. I'm trying to practice as much as I can until I graduate and I'm no longer close to any native speakers. I even volunteer to talk more in class. Weird! Oh well. Go with the flow!
And my ears have stopped ringing mostly! Gotta remember those ear plugs for future shows... Waiiiiii
