Oh, Conan..

Ah. So, in light of recent events, I am writing about the ridiculous episode of Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

When Jay Leno made a reference to Conan's show being up next.. something about skeleton joke...?

And then, they open Late Night with some interesting Halloween-themed stop-motion animation. And then they introduce everyone as... skeletons? You know... those things that are usually found in Bio classes... Uh. It was funny at first just because they actually did it.. But there weren't any references to it in itself (meaning.. they recorded the episode earlier, and didn't mention anything at all about it being Halloween or some odd thing about it, and then they had puppeteers moving the skeletons.).

I thought it'd be for the first few minutes until he got seated and all that.. but then it kept going... and going... It was getting less and less amusing. Not to mention I'll never know what their expressions were when they said something.

All hope was almost lost for this episode until he had another guest... I forgot her name already. But anyway, she teaches pole-dancing and stripping as a form of exercise. And so, she demonstrated some moves and tried to teach them to Conan. Now, I'll bet that this clip would have been 10 times better if they used the real footage. But you know, puppets only have so much freedom of movement.

There was some move where you go upside-down (she told him he'd be like a wet string of spaghetti. [what?]) and practically slither down the pole. Now I can imagine lanky, inflexible Conan was having a hard time, but when these skeleton puppets were put upside down on the pole... first the guest's "hair" fell off... then her head... and so did her "outfit." I could not stop laughing. And then, the Conan puppet effectively did the same thing.. off went his wig, and his head almost fell off, but it was dangling a bit first.

That barely saved the whole episode. Whoever decided to do the whole episode like that and thought it would not get old had to have been out of his mind!

funny, tv
