Wherein I distract myself from the heat by wasting time on YouTube
Look, I know the thing in Los Angeles to do right now is to complain about the weather, and I'd hate to look like someone just jumping on the bandwagon, but dudes. It's 108 degrees in LA right now. 108 degrees. WTF? That's motherhumping hot. Thank goodness I get to spend the day in an air conditioned office. I'm loathe to leave this bubble of artificially, wonderfully cold air until the sun sets.
To distract myself from the increasingly failing air conditioner, I'll just play catch-up with the music meme:
Day 4: Your favorite male singer.: Mika- "Grace Kelly"
I'm cheating a little with this one just so every other song for this isn't Jason Mraz and/or a guy with a guitar. I do adore Mika, though. His albums find an interesting balance between dance-y glam pop/rock (also see: "Love Today") and heartfelt ballads (see: "Happy Ending"). The overall positivity and happiness in his music is infectious.

Day 5: Your favorite female singer. Ingrid Michaelson- "You and I"
The majority of Ingrid Michaelson's songs are more folk-pop a la "The Way I Am" from that Old Navy commercial and the beautiful "The Chain." This song is one of my favorites just because it's so damn happy.
