This, my friends, was the lovely view to which I was treated on the way to the office this morning. And yes, I might have taken the picture while driving, but that's neither here nor there.
This week, I had two whole days off. While that might sound normal for most people, for me, two days off in a week was a damn vacation. I guess it's fitting that the week in which I had the most free time is the week of LA's biggest rain storm in months, which made going out a bitch. No matter to me, though. I love the rain. My sister and I even spent some time outside with her ginormous rainbow umbrella for a while. It was lovely.
Speaking of lovely things, anyone who has judged others for committing so much time and energy on "just" a TV show, movie, book, or what-have-you should read
angvau57's
post about a little show called Bones. Of course, one doesn't need to be a fan of Bones to appreciate it because it applies to any time you find yourself enthralled by any form of fiction.
Ang's entry perfectly describes why I--and many others, I'm sure--invest so much in certain shows. To quote, well, myself in my response to her post, TV is escapism, it's hope, it's all of these fantastic (and not so fantastic, depending on the show) emotions wrapped up into a tidy little one-hour-a-week package.
The point is, read Ang's post. Learn it, love it, live it. Then, if you're anything like me, delve into the long-forgotten corners of your hard drive and/or the interwebs to find fic from Teh Posse because I just got all nostalgic for the Alias days of yore.

It's T-minus 45 minutes till quittin' time. I have yet to finish anything today, so I'm off to wrap up some projects so I can blow this popsicle stand. After that, maybe, just maybe, I'll have myself something of a social life tonight. We'll see how that goes.
