i cried to dream again

In the Shakespeare Class today we class-read act three and four of The Tempest.

I was Caliban.

It was pretty fun. I love play reaading. Now, acting, that's where things get a little tough. But just the reading with emotion part, I can work with that.

I had a lot of fun in that class.

And then I went to film studies. Good ol' film studies. This whole week, we've been watching Chinatown (1974), and today we finished it.

I thought it was a really intriguing movie and sometimes really funny. Minus the random racism.

Also, Jack Nicholson beats people up a lot.

Concerning the movie/plot, some things still don't exactly make sense. Like why the first lady who claimed to be Mrs. Mulwray died. And why those dudes were hiding in the closet. But whatever.

But the ending! THE ENDINGGGGG!

Another thing I didn't understand about the ending: the dude is like "It's Chinatown", and then there's a few seconds of a pan over the heads of a bunch of Asian people.

And I'm like "Uh. Okay. Chinese people live in Chinatown. That's amazing."

Also. Today I had a quiz in math. I didn't do that great.

But I feel so weird in that class. Zach, the teacher, thinks I'm so much smarter than I actually am. He gave me this problem once, excpecting me to use the quadratic formula, but I was like "Derp let's try to factor these unfactorable variables lol that's easy woohoo."

Then he writes out the formula and I'm like "... oh. Right. That thing."

I suddenly know what it's like to be over-estimated. And it kind of sucks.

polished pearl posts, i write bad reviews, film study = my favorite, es tu brute?, yay school is great
