Post Fest Post
Magfest was wonderful as always. It was very different though without Marci there. We arrived Wednesday afternoon and set up camp and then wandered around the park until my friend Sam and her boyfriend, David arrived and set up camp at my site. The first two days I felt a little down, just sad and strange feelings because of Marci and no poster booth and the management being assholes. After that I settled into the groove and let loose. We did a few psychedelics so that helped with loosening up and lightening my mood. We got to go down to the Suwannee river twice and kayaked one of the times, which is my first time kayaking there. It was very peaceful. Each morning we showered in the outdoor shower which actually felt very refreshing and not as cold as the indoor showers. Karen really enjoyed her first festival and we were able to bond even more on many levels so it was a good experience for us. Willie Nelson performed Saturday night after Donna the Buffalo and I lost Karen and Samantha and David before the show even started. So I just hungout in the crowd and enjoyed the performance. Then came back to the campsite to find Sam and David, and Karen arrived shortly after me. I got to see a ton of great talent like the Jon Stickley Trio, The Traveling McCoureys, Donna the Buffalo, Nikki Talley, Quartermoon, Tornado Rider, Grandpa's Cough Medicine, Jim Lauderdale, etc... It ended too soon, as always, but we were extremely exhausted by the time we arrived home on Sunday, and we passed out at 5pm and didn't wake until 7am the next day. Good times, great music, beautiful people, nature's embrace :D
