Kaibutsu-kun Staff Blog: 6/2 - 6/5/2010
Not too many posts this week! Looks like all their location shoots are keeping the staff busy. And hmm, another "new announcement" tonight (6/5 Sat). I wonder what it'll be? Oh, and badminton and curry make an appearance again! ♥
[EDIT: Thank you mooncrescent for the heads up! The official HP for K-kun just posted this: Ohno's "Yukai Tsu-kai" (the insert song he sings for the drama) is going on sale 7/7 (500 yen)! :D If you're interested, I've translated lyrics for the OG version of it here.]
[EDIT2: LOL! I'm reading Japanese tweets where people are wondering if "Yukai Tsu-kai is going to be Ohno's solo for the upcoming concert. . . -_____- ;;;;; One person was even wondering if she should make a Kaibutsu-kun cap to wear to the concert. ^^;;;; NO~~~~~~ Give me my smexy Ohno solo!!!!]

On tonight's 9 p.m. broadcast of
"Kaibutsu-kun" Episode 8!
Finally! The grand and tragic drama of the revenge
of the awakened Demon Prince, Demokin, begins! !
The curtain has lifted on the final chapter of "Kaibutsu-kun".
And whether you like it or not, these are the last 2 [episodes].
Please don't miss it everyone!!

As I'm sure everyone is already aware,
the release date for the DVD has been set~!!
It seems many of you have quickly pre-ordered the DVD,
thank you very much.
The DVD making of team
has closely followed everyone in the cast daily
taking footage of this and that. . .
They've recorded various images [of them]!
Please look forward to September!
[t/n: release date scheduled for Sept. 15th]
And, finally tonight, Episode 8!
If I were to describe Episode 8 in one word. . .
"Just plain amusing!"
[t/n: Actually, the Japanese uses two words to describe Ep 8 ^^;;]
That one word is all that needs to be said!
You should definitely watch it!!

"Campground Set Part 3"

Good morning! It's staff member "K".
Continuing on where staff member "A" left off, a report on the campground set in Episode 8.
Chef Dracula-san, in the midst of earnestly cooking!
Chef Dracula-san, in the midst of earnestly checking to see how things taste!
But isn't that quite a big [mouthful] if you're only "tasting" it???
And, this is everyone in the midst of eating!
Hiroshi doesn't even glance at us, as he's completely engrossed with his fried noodles!!
The campground set was really fun!
The sense of that "fun" atmosphere overflows in the
scenes in tonight's Episode 8! !
Please, please watch it.
"Campground Set Part 2"

Good evening, it's staff member "A".
Continuing on about the campground set.
[Resting] in the middle of the cold river are watermelons and tomatoes!
(The yellow [things] are watermelons as well!)
And of course, a BBQ as well!
And,
[our] Producer, Ikeda, whom you're already familiar with from "TV Pia".
Quietly making fried noodles!
Lunch → teppan-yaki* and fried noodles
[t/n: "teppan-yaki" literally translates into "cooked/fried on steel" and refers to any type of food grilled on a steel plate - meat, seafood,
veggies, etc.]
Dinner → curry rice
Truly, ideal meals [you would eat while] camping! !
Badminton, BBQ, campfire. . .
Even though we're filming,
our worries were forgotten in a moment!
It was a soothing campground set/filming!!

Tomorrow, airing at 9 p.m.!
Here's the campground/camping set/scene that makes an appearance
in Episode 8 of "Kaibutsu-kun".
On this day, we filmed at a campsite located
somewhat distant from Tokyo.
During an interval, as we waited for nightfall
we had a badminton showdown!
Utako vs Franken!
The duo of Wolfman & Hiroshi!
And among other photographs,
The Prince vs Demokin or
Demolina vs. Demokin,
a match between the Ichikawa siblings,
or a mishmash of staff and cast.
During the nearly 2 hour long interval,
we fully enjoyed ourselves with badminton matches!
This campground set is for Episode 8!
Please! Watch it!!
※ "Waiting for nightfall" means when you just sit around doing nothing
waiting for the sun to set in order to film a night scene zamasu!
"Location Bentous are Our Life!"
[t/n: "bentou" = box lunch, usually a main course with a side or two and rice", location bentou refers to the bentous served on set]

I know this sounds random,
but location bentous are our life/lifeblood!
For the cast and staff,
who film day after day, from morning to night
it's one of the few things we have to look forward to.
Today,
let me introduce to you, the location bentou.
[This one is] a kebab location bentou that supposedly won a location bentou competition?
A rare hamburger bentou!
A chicken rice bowl with a salt-based sauce*! Along with a fish dumpling soup! !
[t/n: Unusual!! Donburi, or rice bowls, usually have a soy-based sauce]
When the location bentou is good
you can clearly see the energy level/spirits of those on set rise↑↑↑
Let me say this once again.
Location bentous are our life!

It's the Tokyo Tower! !
Right above Shinbashi [Train] Station!
I felt a little sorry for the staff members
who were afraid of heights, but. . .
The weather on the rooftop of NTV Shiodome
[t/n: NTV Shiodome was also where Arashi no Shukudai-kun was filmed,
remember the "Shiodome Aibaland" corners? <3]
was great and very refreshing.
The night view was beautiful.
Demolina-sama was beautiful as well.
