Hope you get into the program (Sociology of Law! Legal Psychology! who knows?).
Yay for the sale! I love sales. I began reading manga last year when I found a copy of an old reissued manga (From Eroica With Love) in a dollar bin! Yay!
Does this mean you may be studying Law instead? Good luck for either one. I hope you'll do well and enjoy it.
I wish we had a cheap store like that to buy manga! Those prices are outstanding!! Here, I discovered they are selling manga in Wal-mart! The shelf had been bought out so I don't know what they were selling yet.

Last time I was anywhere near a Wal-mart, they were only selling Fruits Basket. I was thrilled to find the Inuyasha DVD boxsets there so cheap (which reminds me...need to go preorder season 7!) but they had nothing in the way of manga selection :-/ But, maybe its improved in the last few years...
According to the tags on the shelf, they are supposed to have Vampire Knights, Naratu and Bleach. But you could see on the shelf where some tags had been but had been removed/knocked off. I'm curious to see what they carry. I usually get mine from Barnes and Noble.
*tears hair* Once while in Malaysia, I came across the complete Inuyasha boxset (eps 1-167) plus all four movies selling for about 112 Malaysian ringgit (around 31 USD). Pirated, of course.
*is drooling* It was so darn cheap, I wanted to snap it up immediately. But luckily I tested the show first before buying. It was terrible! The audio had been dubbed over in Chinese and the English subtitles were atrocious (they kept calling Sango Mango) O.o
So no way. And the only legit, good boxsets cost ten times the price.
o.O Wow, that sucks about the interview!! It's hard enough being prepared for one, but to find out its another? Youch.
On the other hand, I am envious of your cheap book sale!! I'd been all over that myself, especially if it was rly rly cheap. Bargain hunting is in my blood (and, luckily, rather easier to pursue in Europe).
Yeah, there are lots of small stores that sell things on the cheap, and more secondhand stores than you can shake a stick at, at least here in NED. And with the Euro so strong, the prices seem even better than they probably are, LOL :P
