The Little Things

For awhile I've been praying for the things needed to start an indoor kitchen herb garden. After many months, here is the beginnings of herb garden, many thanks to God's channels of provision: a lovely pot from my friend Jill, basil seeds and an indoor growlight from my mom, potting soil from dad, popsicle stick from my brother, and most of all growth from the Lord.
1 Corinthians 3:6-7 (KJV)
"I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase."
Though this verse refers to ministry and to spiritual growth of believers, I believe all growth, great and small comes from God. He is THE LIFE, after all.

This is only the first pot God provided. There's another with parsely and cilantro. I was kinda worried, because the seeds in my possession were really old. I mean, three-years-past-the-experation-date old. So one morning, saddened by the still-barren pot, I prayed that God would bring those seeds to life and help them grow. I came back that night after school to find the parsley and cilantro sprouted in three places, one sprout nearly an inch tall after barely 12 hours.

It's the little things like this that remind me how wonderful it is to have Jesus, His Father, and His Spirit in my life everyday.
Thank You for everything, Father. It's always heartening to see even the little things growing strong.
