The Pinch Hit List
Pinch hitters are the amazing writers who take on extra assignments to help us ensure people get gifts! We send pinch hits (assignments in need of writers) out through Google Groups - there's information in the welcome message at the group and also in the Yuletide FAQ.
Now is a great time for pinch hitters to join or subscribe: if you join the group before the last day of sign-ups, our sign-ups reminder email will be a test of whether you're getting pinch hit messages.
Joining the pinch hit group does not mean you have to take a pinch hit, and you can leave any time. The group gets around 400 messages a year, mostly after the challenge deadline.
Yuletide Discord participants can also sign up to be notified when pinch hits go out - see the FAQ channel.

Bugs and Quirks
- We've dealt with the bug where selecting certain characters stops your sign-up from saving! Mostly. If you get this message: These character tags in your offer are not in the selected fandom(s), FANDOM: CHARACTER, CHARACTER (Your moderator may be able to fix this.) please contact us so we can help.
- The 'List 3371 fandoms' button in the sign-up form is sadly broken. The coders are aware and are working on a fix (yay!) but need to deploy other things first. Other links in the form work OK.
- Some characters may not appear in the drop-down menus in the sign-up form. Copy them exactly from the tag set.
- The sign-up summary does not show offers that were entered as part of a bucket list. (Quirk.)
Tips and Checks
Please check your sign-up over after submitting it.
- Are your DNWs clearly marked as DNWs? Will your writer understand how to apply them to your canons?
- If you're writing a letter, is it linked in your sign-up?
- Please don't encourage your writer to contact you after assignments go out. Yuletide is an anonymous exchange and we'd prefer contact to go through the mods.
- If requesting Any/zero characters, the choice of character is up to your writer according to what's in the tag set. If you have preferences among the nominated characters, please select your favourites instead of Any.
